    fantastic romance

Dukes, Actually is the 5th book in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series by Erica Ridley. Ridley is one of my “go to” authors. Her stories have humor and heart pounding romance. I have especially enjoyed this Christmas series. Each story takes place in a wonderful little town called Cressmouth. In Cressmouth, the inhabitants celebrate Christmas all year round. Ridley has a talent for creating characters of depth and feeling. I loved the heroine Carole Quincy - she is the sunshine in the town. Adam Farland, the sixth Duke of Azureford was a little confusing at times, but I loved his shyness. He was a very relatable character. “He wasn’t holding back now. He was taking, demanding, giving, pleading. Two souls caught in a tug-of-war between we shouldn’t be doing this and I never want to stop.” Bravo Ms. Ridley! I was given a copy of this book.

    A fast paced, enjoyable Read

This is the 5th book in the series. I think was my favorite. But it is a stand alone. Adam is a Duke who is a great orator in the House of Lords. But socially, he is stiff as a board. His solution is to buy a cottage in ther town if Christmas and practice for the season by having billiards parties. Carole is his next door neighbor. She is as social as they come. She knows everyone and helps everyone. The one person she cant seem to help is her father. Since her mom died he is a recluse. Carole has resigned herself that she will never marry because she needs to take care of her father. These two people come together and bring out the best in each other. They become the best of friends. And then more. But can he marry someone not from the ton. And can she let go of the responsibility she feels to her father. This book was sweet, funny and moving. It was fast paced and a quick feel good read. I love when you see a relationship between the 2 main characters develop. I enjoyed reading this book and reccomend it. I want to thank Netgalley for the chance to review this book.

    I loved this book :)

What happens when you put a shy and withdrawn man and a sassy woman together? I'll tell you what - You get a story that will light up your face and make you believe that love conquers all. This is a story about two people who couldn't be more different but as you keep reading you quickly realize how perfect they are for one another. The side characters gave this story that final touch for it to be just perfect. I was rooting so hard for them to overlook the "obstacles" in their way and (finally) see how they'll never find better person to spend their life with. If it's not clear - I absolutely loved this book 😍

    A Sweet & Fun Romance

I enjoyed this sweet and fun romance. I thought the chemitry between Azurford and Carole was good and I really liked them as a couple. He was shy, she was sassy and I found the whole story emotional and cute. A very entertaining romance.

    Hallmark Sweet

The Duke of Azureford is active in many committes in Parliament. He is highly thought of. But in social situations, he is a complete failure. He cannot find a wife. Some might think him a boar but the truth is he is cripplingly shy. Carole is the antethisis of the Duke. She lives next door to his small cottage in the Christmas town. She is taken by the Duke but knows she isn't Duchess material. The story is sweet and predictable. It has Hallmark written all over it. But it works and I adore the series.
