    A Great Series

With the third full-length novel to the intriguing series, the author untangles the web of lies, crimes, secrets, and consequences of choices made, delivering a story that allured the mind, and was difficult put down until the destiny of the cast of characters were revealed. With several subplots going on simultaneously, and all the characters, from the heroes to the culprits, getting their chance to tell their side of the story, it took an effort to keep all the lines untwined. As some of the points of the plot have been following the series from the beginning and for the number of people introduced in the tale, I would highly recommend reading the previous books before starting this one. Yes, it is mentioned in the blurb that this is a stand-alone novel, but I dare to disagree with that after reading the three books. Even though some twist of the plot left me wondering and questioning the relatability, human trafficking comes across as very realistic, the way they hunt the prey, the way they treat them, and how they sell them, it is cruel, horrid, and brutal, giving me chills as I read through the experience of Ava and the other victims of the traffickers. Bailey Fleming and Lance Phoenix were likable characters, who I grew to care for and cheer for as the story progress. Some of the past and current events in Bailey's life were on the edge of my imagination and understanding and even after finished reading the book I was left wondering with some questions. But the growing attraction between Lance and Bailey was not one of the questions in my mind, it seemed authentic and tangible, something that had future potential as well. The romance between them doesn't have a major part in the tale, but it clear that the feelings in their hearts taking root were more than just friendship. There is so much going on in the book, both on the human interest aspect and on the criminal, suspense aspect, that the only way for me to read the story was completely immersing into it, and get lost in the pages of the tale of forgiveness, family loyalty, and finding your true self and staying true to it. The folks at Lavender Tides will solve another tangled web of crimes while trying to move on with their own lives. With thrilling suspense and piquant lives, loves, and destinies of the protagonists the author tell an arresting and alluring tale, part of a series, that I can highly recommend. ~ Four Spoons

    Difficult to follow

I'm a fan of Colleen Coble. I love suspense and trying to figure out whodunit. Secrets at Cedar Cabin puzzled me as I read, although it is a good story. Even though I am familiar with this series, I found it difficult to make sense of all the characters. The switchbacks between scenarios were confusing, and there were too many of them. It would help if, at the beginning of the book, there was a listing of the characters and their connections to each other. At the climax of the story, reading about Bailey and her companions and whether or not evil would win out, seemed to end rather abruptly. A little more explanation would have fleshed it out a bit more as to how this supposed upstanding citizen was able to lead such a double life and commit such atrocities. Bailey and Lance's love story also takes an enormous leap from the two of them beginning to think about dating one another after Lance hopefully finds his missing sister to passionate kissing while Bailey is fresh from the shower wearing only a bathrobe. I found to be in poor taste for a book which is a Christian novel. Thanks to NetGalley who provided me with an ARC for my honest review.

    SECRETS AT CEDAR CABIN

SECRETS AT CEDAR CABIN Colleen Coble Bailey being a nurse for the elderly were a family of her heart. A love she had given to a man that turned out he was a bigamist. Then the sheriff coming and telling her, her mother had been shot. Olivia had been a love of King, but he would not leave his wife and the empire he ran was in her name. The daughter Bailey now must be eliminated, secrets had to be keep hidden. A note left from her mother, telling her to go into hiding, trust no one, is this why they moved so much. The deed Kyle had given her, but why was it in her mother’s home town of Lavender Tide. She had like Kyle and was happy to see Bailey married. The cabin had bulky furniture in it, and dusty, neighbor said iit was owned by a holding company. Was Kyle also into something illegal. Questions are many, why was a killer after her, a mother murdered. An unexpected tip leds them to this cabin, and Bailey one can tell is scared Lance has spent five years looking for his sister Ava.kidnapped into human trafficking .Was this the cabin they had been using . Can be read as a stand alone, the others in the series do tie it all together. Given ARC by Net Galley and Thomas Nelson for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

    enjoyable read

I really enjoyed this next instalment in the 'Lavender Tides' series. Bailey has gone into hiding after someone murdered her mother and tried to murder her. She finds hiding in a remote cabin in Lavender Tides...however not for long! There is plenty of action with a love story interwoven in this wonderful Colleen Coble book. It really was an entertaining read. Thank you to the publishers for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am very happy to recommend this book.
