Great story set against a dramatic backdrop

Perfect escapism for these difficult times! Escape to the past with this story. It opens with a very dramatic scene, perhaps a unique meeting! The story continues with twists and turns for our lead characters. A thoroughly enjoyable read from a very talented author of historical romances. Highly recommended

    Hidden stories

This is a story of many emotions. You are made to see how hidden truths affect many lives. The story of Grace and her family, past and present, affect many others. The location moves from her home in Bodmin Moor to the clay lands, both areas are well described and you can almost taste the different air. Talek the hero is so moral but again plagued by his hidden secrets. Along the way I enjoyed learning a little about the China Clay industry which was such an integral part of this tale. I loved the way the author wove together the different types of love in such a very readable way. Get your chocolate stash out and enjoy.

    A Great Read

Victoria Cornwall has done it again with another fabulous book. When Grace Kellow meets Talek Danning and his sister Amelia for the first time, she assumes he is murdering his sister. The second time they meet she is hiding in a deserted property, where she discovers all is not what it seems about her past, so the third time she meets him she is running away and meets Amelia and Talek at the station, Amelia employs her as her companion. The tension between the two main characters is obvious and it is a really engaging journey and read as they learn more about each other, begin to overcome initial prejudices and Grace learns to accept her past so she can move on. But the road to true love is not always smooth and there are lots of obstacles they need to overcome. Victoria once again creates a story and characters with a real depth that the reader can empathise with and will them to succeed. Cornwall in the mid 1800s is brought to life in a way that made me feel I was there. I couldn’t put this book down until I’d finished and then really wished there was more. A great book that I can’t recommend highly enough.
