    Darker than you think

A horror story from 70 years ago. Jack Williamson wrote a story which is still quite actual. Will Barbee undergoes a number of strange events and thinks he is going crazy because he dreams of changing shapes, His old professor Lamark Mondrick has discovered something strange in his archaeological digs in Mongolia which could be a weapon against something but he dies whilst trying to announce it to the world. The situation rapidly evolves and spirals out of control in this California small town. The tale is told quite skillfully and it is still quite fresh after more than seventy years and shows a great writer. The passage of time is not felt if not for some small items describing things which more or less are still actual. You will not find mobile telephone in this novel, but they are not missed. A masterpiece in its own right.
