    I loved it!

This first in a new series is off to a solid start! Interesting characters and a well written whodunit are a winning combination. The story was filled with twists and possibilities that kept me guessing and engaged until the end. I look forward to reading the next in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

    great characters

This new cozy series is off to a good start! At 28 Molly Owens leaves L.A. for a fresh start in Britton Bay, Oregon. Now editor of the small town weekly newspaper, Molly finds herself dealing with older, established employees, one who is a challenge from the start. When Molly finds Vernon's dead body she feels guilty for forcing him to do an interview with the elderly town patriarch whose family's stories don't line up with Vernon's notes. This is a town with a great variety of characters including Molly's landlady, Katherine, eatery owner & waitress Calliope Jacobs and milkshake specialist Callan Blair. I can see many more cozy adventures as Molly crosses paths with Det. Chris Beaton and mechanic Sam Alderich. I volunteered to read an ARC from Lyrical Press (Kensington Publishing) through Net Galley.

    Cute Cozy Romantic Mystery

This was just an OK cozy mystery for me. Maggie has moved to a new town on the Oregon Coast to edit a small town newspaper. One of the newspaper reporters resents her arrival. When he does not show up for work she goes to his house and stumbles over his body. She sets out to solve the mystery. The mystery was easy to solve even though there were a few suspects. The motive was thin and the suspect did not make sense. I was not a big fan of the romance. There was a lot of repetition and the main character got on my nerves. She has the annoying cozy habit of insisting that she would not interfere but does. I also do not like it when the sleuth breaks the law or tampers with evidence. I did like the newspaper background and the town could be interesting. It was a quick read.

    Loving the storyline

I have not read any books by this author but I enjoyed the book Loved the characters especially the small detail about her finding a puppy love animals in books especially when they have some inter action with the characters. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes cozy mysteries to read and enjoy the story line also like when there is a little romance. Agree with another reader the author is off to a really good start with this series
