Travis Ford is a Dirty. Talk. Champ.

If I were to commission an author to write me my perfect romance novel, it might turn out a lot like Fix Her Up. My perfect romance novel would feature main characters who are a little lost, a little broken. Not angsty drama magnets, just relatable people at a turning point in their lives, unsure which way to turn. Travis has recently been expelled from heaven, tossed from the professional baseball career he loved. Georgie has a job she loves, but wants her family to see her as something other than just the baby of the family, though she's unsure how to change their view. My perfect romance novel would include some laughs. A book that opens with airborne lo mein is off to a good start, right? The story isn't silly or uproarious, but provides regular chuckles mostly via characters' clever banter or smart aleck comments. My perfect romance novel hero would be handsome and slightly cocky, with a filthy mouth and more potential than he realizes. Travis Ford is a Dirty. Talk. Champ. He's also a better man than he has any idea until he sees himself through someone else's eyes. My perfect romance novel heroine would be smart, independent, and witty. She'd be pretty, but she'd be more than her appearance. Georgie Castle is, at age 23, a small business owner, a homeowner, and a talented entertainer. She has a knack for saying the right thing in the moment, especially when the moment calls for a snarky comeback or an encouraging word. My perfect romance novel could not be my favorite without some delicious sexual tension and several creative sexytime interludes. Um, yeah. No by-the-book missionary-in-a-bed nonsense here. My perfect romance novel would have a sweet, cuddly dog who's a little smarter than any dog ought to be and yet fully devoted to its owner and the owner's love interest. This might be the only way that Fix Her Up fell short of being my ideal because there was no dog in the story, but I'm willing to overlook it since it was so terrific overall. Highly Recommended!

    Empowering

Tessa Bailey has a knack for writing stories about fixing hearts. Her characters start out as damaged and it’s their healing journey that makes her books so compelling. And that’s what Fix Her Up is, emotional and compelling. It took me longer to read it than usual but that’s simply because I wanted to spend more time with Georgie and Travis. Their journey together mattered.

    Fabulous sexy rom com!

Fabulous! Tessa Bailey hits one out of the park with this fun sexy rom-com. I loved everything about this one - don't be fooled by the cutesy cover, it's got vintage Bailey sex scenes, laugh out loud moments and two really likable characters who bring out the best in each other. It's a 'best friend's sibling' trope theme (one of my favorites) and watching Travis come to appreciate Georgie as more than just the girl who used to watch him play baseball from the bleachers and cheer him on is simply delightful. There are some interesting secondary characters and nice set up for future series books, which I will be standing in line for! If you're looking for a light-hearted , sexy and fun romance you'll want to have this one on your summer reading list!

Best friend's little sister & fake relationship!!!

This story is two of my favorite troupes....best friend's little sister and a fake relationship! Georgette "Georgie" Castle is tired of everyone treating her like she doesn't matter. Just because she chose to be a children's party planner including dressing up as a clown, instead of working for the family's home renovations business, doesn't mean that she doesn't have a brain! Georgie decides she is going to change a few things in her life so that maybe for once she will actually be noticed. What she never expected was to be noticed by Travis Ford, her brother Stephen's best friend. Travis was the hot "it" player in the MLB until a career ending injury has sidelined him for good and thrown him into a self induced pity party. Growing up Georgie was always the little tag along bratty sister because she had a huge crush on Travis and if she was fully honest, she still did! When Georgie goes over to Travis place to force him out of his funk, she didn't expect to find him asleep, naked and his place a pig sty! After some fun banter back and forth, Georgie leaves but clearly she affected Travis because he finally decides to move on with his life....and he is thinking maybe he wants some more of Georgie in that life! As Georgie and Travis spend more time together, their friendship starts to take a different turn. When Georgie realizes that they both could give each other something that they both want, they come up with a fun plan. But just when it seems like this plan is working perfectly, feelings start to get in the way and feelings end up getting hurt because of demons from the past. It will take a huge leap of faith along with some unexpected moves for Georgie and Travis to get their happy ending but it is well worth the wait. Overall I loved this story! Two fun, flawed characters with such witty banter I found myself laughing out loud a lot as I read this book. The sexual chemistry these two shared was off the charts and their emotional connection brought tears to my eyes a few times.
