    Thanks for your feedback!

    A delightful surprise!

When I was fortunate enough to get a copy to read for free, I wasn't prepared for just how entertaining and well written this would be. This is an amusing little fairytale about luck, When a homeless conman participates in a science experiment for money, he doesn't realise how much his life is going to change. This is a cleverly written story, lots of humour and a neat twist or two keep the reader entertained to the end.

    An enjoyable read

Getting Lucky is a short novella about a self proclaimed “hardened street fighter” with a quick mind and a keen eye for judging character. When he finds himself in the right place at the right time (basically compelled to do a good deed), our hero starts on a unique journey of discovery. There are a variety of themes explored in this story – the main ones being karma, awareness and luck. I found some of the writing mildly cliché, but not uncomfortable. The plot is original and creative. It is written in the first person, though the protagonist never actually tells us very much about himself. The language is quite wholesome for this particular cast of characters, and the setting is simple enough to provide a sturdy backdrop. I felt the story was thoroughly explored and all loose ends neatly wrapped up, in spite of its short length. I would have liked to know the main character a little better. I think with some expansion this could have been made longer – but why? I finished this in one sitting and found it satisfying. I particularly liked the ending. All in all, an enjoyable read.

    An enjoyable read!

I got many a chuckle whilst reading this one. The whole premise of the story is very interesting and not one I've read before. Good job Craig.
