An entertaining and gripping book that kept me on the edge till the end. I liked the style of writing, the fleshed out cast of characters and the well crafted plot. It's the first book I read by this author but won't surely be the last. Recommended! Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

    A great read

Her Perfect Lies is a great read the will have you gripped from start to finish. It is an intriguing story that is full of mystery and suspense and perfect for fans of the psychological suspense genre. From the opening chapter I was hooked and was up reading this well into the night. It is definitely a page turner with plenty of shocks along the way! Lana has created a chilling plot that would be one of my worst nightmares! Losing your memory and not knowing things about your life like personal and family relationships, friendships, childhood memories, work life etc, I can’t even..but what makes this story different is that main protagonist Claire may find that she is better off not remembering the events that lead to the car accident or her past….You’re intrigued now aren’t you? There are only a few characters that join Claire in this story with the main ones being her husband and father that we read the most of. They have, as well as the supporting characters been written well and are believable in the roles that they play. They keep you on your toes, each hiding something whether it be to protect Claire or stop her from finding out secrets best kept hidden..I enjoyed how I was kept second guessing myself with them all. What I really enjoyed most about this book is how Lana made me feel tense throughout the story in anticipation of what was to come. It had an ominous presence in each chapter that also at times had me feeling uncomfortable which is how I like a psychological suspense to make me feel. You just know a big reveal is on the horizon and in this case, it’s a ripper! Lana’s writing is very fluid, engaging and flows really well. it is not repetitive and although descriptive, it is not overly done. There is no beating around the bush and I liked how Lana just gets on with it, which made this fast paced and a quick read. This is the first book I have read from Lana and she will definitely now be on my radar for her future releases. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to read a review Her Perfect Lies which I recommend. Thank-you to NetGalley, HQ Digital and Lana Newton for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Her Perfect Lies which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

    Her Perfect Lies

⭐⭐⭐1/2 You wake up after a car accident. You look in the mirror and a total stranger looks back at you. Surely you must remember your husband and family? How can you not remember being a well known ballerina? You don't like the taste of pickles because they taste like seawater, but are told you use to love them. This is what happened to Claire. "The human mind … what a fragile thing it was. One minute your life had meaning. You had a past, a present and a future that was anticipated and planned for. You went to work, saved money, paid into your pension. You got married, travelled the world, fell in love, had babies, pizza every Saturday and takeaway Chinese every Friday night. And then, just like that, without any warning or indication, your mind could turn its back on you, leaving you in a void. Knowing who you are, where you are in life, all gone like an early morning fog. Without that knowledge, what was left?" Claire is told she was in a car accident with her father but when he wakes up from his coma he is adamant he was alone in the car. Her husband takes her home but it doesn't feel like a home and why is he cold towards her? Where is her mother? Why doesn't she come and see her. I enjoyed the book and I thought it had a good storyline. Here and there there were things that bothered me a bit, but it wasn't major issues. All in all it was a solid psychological thriller.

    Psychological Drama with Unexpected Twists

When Kate wakes up in the hospital, she has no idea who she is .... she doesn't recognize her husband, her friends, her mother and father she only knows from pictures. Her father is also in the hospital recuperating. She looks in the mirror and sees a stranger. Her husband is distant, although courteous. When her best friend tells her there were 'issues' between Kate and her husband. When she discovers divorce papers , she's sure that their issues were big ones. Then the nightmares begin ... are they only nightmares, or is her memory beginning to come back? Who is the man chasing her and why is he so fearful? In some respects , Kate feels like she's losing her sanity. Kate must untangle the threads of her life ..... she needs to know who she was .... she needs to solve the mystery of the car accident. The more she uncovers, the more questions she has and she finds that there are deep dark secrets she must root out. This is a well written psychological drama full of twists and turns and secrets and lies. Not everyone is who or what they show on the outside. The characters are finely drawn and lend credibility to the story. Many thanks to the author / HQ Digital / Netgalley for the digital copy of HER PERFECT LIES.
