  • A brilliant addition to the series

Straight off the bat, I strongly recommend you reading the first book (The Dancing Girls) in this fantastic series to fully appreciate Her Silent Prayer and while you are at it you should also read the other books as they are all amazing! Of course no spoilers here, but I have been waiting for this book since the end of the first, which I will shout from the rooftops again, has one of the best twists I have read! 4 years in the making, when I was made aware of Her Silent Prayer, its plot and characters, my Christmases all came at once! After reading it, It was everything I wanted it to be and more! Her Silent Prayer is a fast paced read and it was great to catch up with Jo and the team again as they work to solve this latest case as well as a past cold case. Both of these cases will test your morals and have you questioning is the wrong thing done for the right reason still the wrong thing? (A little Charmed reference for you there!) Perfectly written, well researched and executed, Her Silent Prayer is another brilliant addition to this series and I am hopeful that there will be more to come.

  • Overall, a gripping and exciting book to read.

Her Silent Prayer by M.M. Chouinard provides a glimpse into a person's idea of justice. This book was addictive. It was a page-turner and had a solid plot. The writing was good, and the author created excellent characters. Overall, a gripping and exciting book to read. I would definitely recommend this book and author. #HerSilentPrayer #NetGalley

  • Gripping Read

Her Silent Prayer has your gasping your breath from the first to the last page. Jo and Arnett are determined relentless detectives that once they are on your trail you might as well turn yourself in. They also have a great back up team. Women are being murdered at a quick rate and they all have something in common. Jo is also determined to look into a past case as something does not sit right with her. Jo made me nervous a few times but I had faith. I don't want to give anything away but don't miss Her Silent Prayer. You can read it as a stand alone but I will bet you will go back and start with Dancing Girls.

  • Great Mystery!

Do you know? M. M. Chouinard's writing is so good it was first published locally when she was only 8-years old. Her characters are relatable and her humor is on point. If you have not read one of her books, do it soon! "Her Silent Prayer" is the 5th book in the "Detective Jo Fournier" series. This is my first book in this intriguing series. It is great as a standalone. I love the characters and the story is fascinating. This atmospheric book had me rechecking my doors to make sure they are locked. Melissa Rollins is found dead in a closet in her house. Melissa is a popular hands-on single mother to her daughter Avery. Melissa was drugged, restrained, placed in a closet that was nailed shut and left to die. Detective Jo Fournier and Detective Bob Arnett are called to investigate this bizarre murder. What is the motive? Who would want to torture Melissa in such a brutal way? "Her Silent Prayer" will be published April 7th. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture, for allowing me to review this gripping story. I appreciate it very much!

  • First Class

An impressive read following on from the other books in M.M. Chouinard's Detective Jo Fournier series. In this one, Her Silent Prayer, Melissa Rollins, a single mother to her daughter, Avery is found trapped inside a hall cupboard in her suburban home; she had been drugged and left for dead. Detective Josette Fournier and her partner-in-crime, Detective Bob Arnett are called to the scene in the town of Greenfern and are shocked by the horrendous crime scene they find there. I believe Her Silent Prayer would work as a self-contained read although you most likely will want to read the other instalments of the series. For me, Jo makes for a near-perfect main character with her inner strengths and vulnerability. Although not without flaws, she shows empathy and the camaraderie and bond she shares with Bob are delightfully pleasing. They make the perfect duo along with the rest of the team and Jo's relentlessness and motivation are admirable. Michelle M. Chouinard’s overall style wowed me once again as did the wonderfully thrilling plot. I really appreciate the author's ability to not only draw me into the sordid, dark story immediately but also keep me enthralled until the very last page. For me, this tale has it all - a plot brimming with mystery, suspense with many twists, characters that are real and believable and a super ending. Michelle M. Chouinard has become one of my favourite authors and I can’t wait to see what's next in this magnificent series. I received a complimentary copy of this novel, at my request, from Bookouture via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.
