  • Historical Mystery at the Carnival

I was pleasantly surprised by this short mystery. Cassie, her landlady and the landlady's nephew spend the day at the carnival. Davy is excited to see real Cowboys and Indians. While there they witness a murder. Since Cassie seems to have some experience with solving mysteries she sets out to solve it. Davy is sure the Cowboy is innocent. Cassie does a good job of investigating and putting the pieces together while police are sure they have their man. The mystery makes sense but is easy to solve for armchair detectives. Except for the mention of a few steam engines there is not a lot of steampunk background. This book really reads like any historical mystery. I look forword to reading the next one in the series. Enjoy this for a quick light read. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

    Thanks for your feedback!
