    Twists and Turns

The Night Market is the sequel to the first book The Harbour Master. I liked this sequel a bit better than the first book - the writing is more in stride. The storyline continues from the first book. Like the first book, the sequel has three parts, but they eventually tied together at the end with some liberal plot twists. I liked the author's theme of reconciling one's own hatred.

    Night Market

A highly complex story unravelling that of the previous book. Henk van den Pol is determined to discover the depths of the rot in the police service and bring people to justice but what can one man do. A well constructed and well written book which deserves a thorough read but make sure you fully understand what happened in the previous book before you read this one.

    Enjoyable

Another gripping tale of crime in Amsterdam. Henk is a typical detective good at what he does, prone to stretching the rules and hopeless at family relationships. A well written and enjoyable follow up to The Harbour Master.
