interesting story with life like characters

I have only just started reading Steinbek and wish I had been reading his work years ago. I like his descriptive style and how Steinbek draws readers into the plot. You feel like you are there...a sad ending where the main character thinks he is going somewhere he is not....highly recommended

    THE HUGE SMALLNESS OF SORROW

Reading this in 2017 in England and it has a pained reality. A remarkable and affecting piece of brilliance, even its imperfections have a moving honesty.
