  • An unforgettable rock star romance

Before I even read a sentence of One Day Like This I knew it was going to be good as Ms Cole knows how to write rock star romance and this isn't just any rock star romance, this is a rock star romance about a band on the brink not just of possible stardom but implosion. As the band go from small gig to small gig, whilst working full-time jobs and extra shifts to earn enough money to record songs in a desperate bid to showcase their music and earn that elusive big break, but the issues and old hurts this group face and the relationships they have fracture when bass guitarist and co song writer Matt does the one thing he swore he wouldn't do, he pursues a relationship with his best friend's younger sister Izabel. And with Manchester and its vibrant music scene brought wonderfully to life, not to mention social issues and characters with such depth and realism this was a story I couldn't put down and the ending perfectly sets up the next book, which I can't wait to get my hands on. Would definitely recommend.

  • A forbidden, rockstar romance with all the feels!

One Day Like This is the first book in a new rockstar romance series by Scarlett Cole. Matt and Izabel have loved each from afar but neither acted on their feelings. Izabel is his best friend and band mates little sister, making her forbidden and off limits. Matt is the bass guitarist and songwriter for his band, Sad Fridays. He is talented and passionate about his music. This story is full of drama and put my heart through a gamut of emotions. I was captivated from beginning to end and found it difficult to put down once I started reading. Scarlett Cole has an incredible talent in writing a commonly themed trope and putting her unique stamp on it. This is not your typical rockstar romance. Sad Fridays has yet to make it big and reading the struggles and hardships and all the bad had to go through to make their dream come true made the story feel more authentic and real. As Matt and Izabel give into their feelings their is some secrecy to navigate but their love, passion and intense chemistry is undeniable. This is the just the beginning and was a great start to the series. I cannot wait to read the next one. Thank you to Scarlett Cole and Wildfire Marketing for providing an advanced reader copy of the book in exchange of my honest review.
