Percy Jackson and the Greek gods

A funny and refreshing new take on old stories. Some of the stories I've always known about, some were new to me. It was funny, poignant, beautiful at times... Thank you RR. This book was good.

Percy Jackson and the Greek Gods

Excelente.

    Witty and Funny

This instalment of a PJO extra book is both informative and witty at the same time. This book gives us an insight and a brief overview into Greek Mythology and the gods. We go on an epic adventure from the creation of Earth to the conquers of Dionysus. One aspect that sets this apart from the Heroes of Olympus novels is the old school, Percy Jackson first-person wit. This is an aspect that I believe hinders on the development of the HoO Series, and it was nice to see Rick go back to his roots. Several things hinder this from getting a 5/5. The first is that Percy Jackson seems fully aware that his 'story' is indeed a story. I feel that is something this could have done without. Part of the reason this series is so good is the fact that only RICK makes mention that this world is real (which it isn't) however, it just made the whole series lose its enjoyment. Other that that the only other thing that hindered this from getting 5 stars is, as the title implies, it focuses on the Greek Gods. I would have liked to see other stories of mythology in here, like Perseus, Theseus, Oedipus and Heracles to name a few, rather that just one sentence allusions. However like I said, the title implies this is following the gods, so possibly another spin-off. Other than that this was a really enraging book. I loved the Blood of Olympus teaser at the end, that just made me that more excited for October 7th!
