    Great read!

Once I started reading, I couldn"t put this one down. The story captivated me, the whole idea of a modern kid sharing his mind and body with an ancient god is interesting but when that kid has survived so much already, it had me really caring about what happens to him. The religious zealots that constantly attack them for just being who they are make great villains and I want to cheer every time that they are defeated. I am so anxious to see the next book in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Not normal fantasy - feels very real

I thought this would be pure fantasy like his other series but its actually modern. Its all human and spirits or gods a lot like Percy Jackson books but more real. There are scenes that talk about child abuse and bullying at school. Even if those are hard to read its important stuff and he makes good points about doing what you have to do to survive. Again it seems real, at least until the spirits get involved. Then its wild. It's somewhere between a kung fu film and a superhero comic. It was great.
