  • good follow up

This book was provided to me by Bookouture through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book 2 in the Detective Amanda Steele series. When Amanda and her partner, Trent Stenson are called to a house fire where a body has been pulled from, it links back to a trafficking ring named DC. Amanda has already had dealings with this ring (read The Little Grave), so she is rushing to find the leader and save the victims. But why is someone killing the victims? Amanda, Trent, Sargent Malone and Patty Glover are back. Although Patty has a smaller part, she and Amanda still communicate throughout the case. Also, Lt Hill is still out for Amanda's job. She doesn't like her and it is clear that she will do whatever she can to take her down a notch. I definitely liked Amanda WAY better in this book. She has finally gotten her feet under her, is more grounded, and her life is starting to pull together. Thank you Bookouture, Carolyn Arnold and NetGalley

  • Amanda is working her way into my heart

Great follow up to book 1, but still can be read as a stand alone. Waiting for book 3!. Amanda Steele is working her way into my heart. She was so broken in book 1, I love watching her put herself together stitch by stitch, and then something happens to unravel one or two She digs deep and keeps putting one foot in front of the other. Twists and surprises ensue, how about that one towards the end?? Not with Amanda. Sorry trying for no spoilers :) Speaking of the ending,.... it is a cliff hanger, but a cliff hanger as to Amanda next step. The crime is resolved in itself, and other doors are open for this series to keep on going, and I am in. Thank you for the arc. Thank you Bookouture, NetGalley I freely share my thoughts and opinions.

  • Great Suspense

Another awesome suspense story in this series. Looking forward to the next. Detective Amanda Steele and her partner, Trent, are called in to investigate the murder of a young teenager found in a burning building. They very quickly find out that they are dealing with the beginnings of a serial killer, not an isolated murder. When it becomes apparent that the victims are part of a human trafficking ring, the case takes on a whole new purpose for Amanda. But every decision Amanda makes has consequences, and when she chooses to put herself in danger to save someone she cares about, will it cost her her career? This is a great series with just enough action and mystery to keep me up reading all night. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

  • Page Tuner

Great 2nd book in the Detective Amanda Steele’s series, Amanda and her partner Trent Stenson are called to investigate the murder of a teenage girl in an abandoned house, next day a neighbour is found murdered, do they have a serial killer on their hands, if so is this the beginning or has it been for a while? – As their investigation moves along they did the find themselves digging back into the human sex trafficking ring that was part of book 1 (you don’t have to have read book 1 to read book 2) – Again book 2 ends with a cliff hanger and you are hoping book 3 will follow soon! Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an early look at this book for my opinion.

  • Deteective Steele is back!!

Reading Between the Wines book review #41/115 for 2021: Rating: 3.5 🍷 🍷 🍷1/2 Book 📱: Stolen Daughters (Detective Amanda Steele Book 2) Author: Carolyn Arnold Genre: Mystery & Thrillers RELEASED on April 6, 2021!!! Recommended to readers who like a series with a tough woman as the lead and mysteries and suspense to boot. Sipping thoughts: Detective Amanda Steele is back at it-bad, relentless, and unwavering as ever. She is still reeling from losing her daughter and husband from a drunk driver years earlier as well as her mom’s impending legal problems. That is all I will say about her mom just in case you haven’t read the first book. Amanda has to catch yet another serial killer who may be harming young teens kidnapped into sex trafficking. The second book in this series shows Detective Steele still as the no holds barred detective who stops at nothing to solve her case. I can’t wait to see what happens in book 3. Cheers and thank you to @NetGalley and @Bookouture for an advanced copy of @StolenDaughters #StolenDaughters #CarolynArnold #DetectiveAmandaSteele #AmandaSteele #Bookouture #NetGalley #advancedreadercopy #ARC #Kindle #Booksofinstagram #readersofinstagram #bookstagram #nicoles_bookcellar #bookworm #bookdragon #booknerd #booklover #bookstagrammer #bookaholic #bookreview #bookreviewer #IHaveNoShelfControl #ReadingBetweenTheWines #fiction #thriller #suspense #mystery #MysteryAndThriller
