  • Essential reading for all crime fans

I have been a huge fan of this trilogy for years and couldn't wait to read the third and final instalment: it was absolutely worth the wait, and is completely relevant 13 years after The Power of the Dog (with a thinly disguised US president). This has been an epic, brutal, bloody and engrossing saga, sometimes angry, sometimes devastating, sometimes hilarious and always gripping. This has been such a gift to read and is a must for all crime fans.

  • Fantastic end of an epic tale

The Border is the end of Don Winslow's War on Drugs trilogy. The story began in The Power of the Dog and continued with the Cartel. Art Keller is the protagonist as the story is bang up to date as the action moves from Mexico, New York to Washington. We are introduced to new characters and are re acquainted with some old ones. Be warned, there are some shocking scenes of violence as the various drug cartels seek to fill the vacuum left by Adan Barrera. There is a lot of dark humour in amongst the savagery. Don Winslow is such a good writer that he places you at the front seat whether it's an undercover operation or a drug fuelled orgy. Can you tell that I loved it?
