    The Child on Platform One.

I enjoyed this story very much, yes it is fiction but based on fact. this is about a child sent to England on the Kindertransport trains, and how the mother give her child a help to stay alive. It also was about a Quaker family in England who looked after her, Quakers don't fight but they help and were very brave during both world wars. This is Gill Thompson's second book and I look forward to more, I would count her as a excellent Historical author, whose stories are based on fact.

    Great read

A real stirring read. Have been reading a lot about the mistreatment of the jews during the war and this book held up well Could not put down.

    Riveting reads

I enjoyed this book so much it was difficult to put down. I have read quite a few factual books about the holocaust and this was equally heartrending.

    Moving and emotionally authentic

I thought all the different POVs were well handled. Nothing exaggerated for effect, just each person reacted the way you would expect. The drama was understated but no less powerful for that.
