A very uninspiring book - not recommended

Pure tenacity got me through this book. It was not an enjoyable read in any sense. From almost two years of online dating, the writer appears to have cherry-picked a handful of dates that went very badly. (This was also the premise of The Guardian columns). The writer's obsessive search for a man knows no bounds. Her inability to accept rejection from men who are clearly not interested is staggeringly incomprehensible. How can anyone be so, well, thick? The tawdry phone sex encounters with men she hadn't even met and the 'Finn' episode had this reader continually asking - why the need to humiliate yourself to this extent? Sadly the book offers no illumination in this regard. The 'lesson' that Grey seems to be promoting in her book is that no matter how bad things get in the online dating world (and they did get very bad) women must just keep going if the want 'the prize'. This is not, in any sense, a book for modern women.
