  • Good value and enjoyable crime series

I read Black December, the first in the series, a while back so thought I'd give the others a go too as they are all packaged together in this box set. All in all very enjoyable, if a little improbable in places, but fiction is fiction, I guess. The main character is well drawn, flaws and all, and I found myself liking him more as the series progressed. The 'free' short story was actually very good. In summary, excellent value at this price and a good read generally.

  • Very good read.

The three stories built on each other with a good story line and interesting characters. There were unexpected twists and turns, which helped keep my interest. I found it difficult to put down once I got a little ways into the first part of the book. I would recommend this to others who like suspense stories.

  • Dark and gripping

A compelling cast of complex characters and plots. Not for the faint of heart but quite engaging. Looking forward to the next in the series.

  • The Irish Detective

Enjoyed the details of each caase plus the interplay betwen the various bosses and subordinates. Also the descriptions of the various British townss and villages and their respective countrysides. The local pubs and the chacters and the info disvcovered therein. All three good reads til the end.

  • The Irish Detective one two and 3

Bought the set of Scott Hunter books, very disappointed. The storyline was disjointed and the writing was choppy. Book two was no better. The third of the set showed promise but became quite fantastical and the hunt setup with Moran and Rufus went on and on and on.
