  • Unputdownable

I loved this fantastic murder mystery. The setting provided the perfect tone for the whole book. The eerie seascape, the lighthouse and the visiting funfair gave me the shivers. That opening chapter - chilling! The lead detective, Casey, drove the investigation. I very much enjoyed being in her head and seeing the story unfold through her eyes. The team dynamics between her, Jericho and Tracey felt natural, and I devoured the pages that developed their relationships. There were emotions aplenty to be had. I bounced from tense, to sad, to biting my nails. ‘The Lighthouse Girls’ is an unputdownable read with many frantic rollercoaster moments. Perfect for those who love a whodunnit.

  • Tremendously Absorbing

I enjoyed this 6th book, The Lighthouse Girls as much as the others in this detective series. A teenager is dead and her sister is missing; they were both at the local funfair. Casey White is a great detective, a determined, smart, and compassionate woman, though she carries emotional baggage. The other characters are also well created and developed, especially ex-sheriff, trustworthy and amiable Jericho Flynn. Casey and the team's interactions are always interesting to read as they set about looking for the culprit(s). Set in Outer Banks, North Carolina the plot pacing was frenetic with plenty of action, and there was certainly no room for tedium or boredom. The story was fascinating and I revelled in the problematical investigation. Enthralling to the very end, I shall be watching out for the next in the series and I'm immensely keen to see where the talented B.R. Spangler hopefully might take things next. A highly entertaining and absorbing police procedural which I recommend without any hesitation. Disclosure: Thank you to Bookouture via Netgalley for providing a digital ARC of The Lighthouse Girls by B.R. Spangler for review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
