  • Books can change lives...

“Books can change lives and make people feel not alone when they most desperately need it.” It was such a joy getting to read The Little Bookshop of Love Stories! I loved getting lost in books with main characters Hallie and Dimitri, and the storyline kept me hooked throughout the whole book. The Serendipity movie reference was SPOT ON, not that I am biased at all by that movie being one of my favorites. This book truly had me from the first sentence: It is a truth universally acknowledged that today is the Mondayest Monday ever. I’ve been fired. Again. Highly recommend this one if you are in need of a light romance! Thank you to NetGalley and HQ Digital for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

  • One of the best reads of the year so far. Loved it

This book hit every spot for me. It was a wonderful Happy loved up story of two of the most clumsy people I've ever heard of. Their adorable little incidents made me chuckle from dropping things to falling over to bumping in to things! Hallie is a beautiful character who I felt was instantly like a friend. I could relate to her in lots of ways and as most book lovers of this genre, she falls in love with the love stories. Dimitris is a fantastic character with the way he always knows what to do for best, to make Hallie smile or make things right. The book takes you on a gorgeous journey through bad luck, good luck, friendship, family and love. If you're a sucker for love stories this book is full of them! Thank you so much to the author, the publishers and netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to read this ARC for my honest review. I will be recommending this to everyone and will definitely be looking up the authors other books. Thank you

  • A real happy feeling, delightful little book!

A real happy feeling, delightful little book! I must admit I wasn't too sure at the beginning as both the main characters were very accident prone and I found it slightly annoying and over the top, but as I got into the book and the characters grew on me it turned into me finding them endearing instead of annoying! Hallie never has any luck, until she wins her favourite old-fashioned bookshop in a raffle. She's left the shop by its elderly owner, but on the proviso that she never sells it on, when the time eventually comes she'll have to find someone to gift it to, as the shop has never been sold, just passed down to like-minded bookish people who want the shop to survive. At the beginning Hallie is thrown in at the deep end and struggles, but she always has Dimitri to help. Dimitry isn't an employee but is always in the shop, using one of the rare fairy tale books, to help him with his illustrations for his new book as an illustrator. He is there every day and is a great help to Hallie, they are very like-minded, but he has secrets too that are eventually revealed. As Hallie tries to help the bookshop survive and slowly gets close to Dimitri in the process the shop starts to thrive, secrets are revealed, and they both help each other out. A lovely feeling book that grew on me with each page, with a really lovely ending. I can see a sequel - I hope!

  • Dimitri and Hallie

4 1/2 stars (because it was a bit rambly in the beginning). This book was so cute! Hallie and Dimitri were so perfect for each other, I couldn't stand the cuteness between them. Hallie receives the gift of a bookshop from Robert, who's retiring from owning/managing Once Upon a Page. As she loves books, this is the perfect job for her, but she soon realizes the bookshop is bad financial shape. Dimitri shows up in the bookshop, all in his glorious awkwardness and clumsiness, and a beautiful friendship starts forming between these two. They feel the same about books and reading and some scenes between were just the best. The ending was really, really cute, and I heartily recommend this clean romance. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
