    An Outstanding Read

I am a Shalini Boland novice and I was so impressed with this outstanding psychological thriller. The premise of the book beckoned to me and I knew that I had to read this novel! The Marriage Betrayal definitely did not disappoint. It had everything I would expect from a psychological thriller - a great plot, well-drawn characters and terrific pacing. I was completely gripped by from the outset and I loved the shock factor and twisting plots, making this extremely difficult to put down. This was one of my favourite storylines this year and I really didn't foresee any of the plot twists. I loved Shalini Boland's smooth writing style and it was easy to connect with the characters - to imagine them, sympathise with them, love or hate them. The great reveal was the final and fulfilling shocker of the book, The Marriage Betrayal was everything I wanted in what was a pretty special psychological thriller. I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel, at my own request, from Bookouture via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

    Wowza!

Wowza! As a huge Shalini Boland fan I have enjoyed her writing and the stories she tells are so imaginative and original. The Marriage Betrayal is no different and has the biggest surprise ending I've read in a long time. You will not regret purchasing this book!

    Twisty adventure.. loved it

Another fantastic book from Shalini Boland. As usual the story was fast paced and addictive and I read it quickly. If you have ever read anything by this author you know that you are always in for a twisty adventure with an ending that you won't see coming. The Marriage Betrayal is no exception. Faye has planned a family summer holiday back to where her husband Jake grew up. Along for the trip is Jakes sister and her family. But all is not as she had imagined and Jake is not enjoying being back home. They plan to head back to London early but before they can Jake and their 6 year old son go missing . The police are called and the town comes out in force to help search for them. As the investigation continues Faye finds out that her husband is not the man she believed that he was. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for my advanced copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased

A great thriller with a twist

I absolutely love Shalini’s work, and this book is no exception. They just keep getting better and better. Billed as a “totally gripping and heart-stopping psychological thriller full of twists” is exactly how to describe this book. Shalini knows her stuff in this genre, and she has created a story that I could not get enough of and read in one sitting. Make sure you have nothing else to do when starting this book, as it will have you hooked from the get go right up until the final page with a twist to end all twists! It’s so good! Shalini does a great job in drawing the reader in and making you feel a part of the story, with believable characters and with a beautiful picturesque setting. Any story featuring a sea side town is always a winner for me. I felt like I was there with the characters. The subplot in this book compliments the main story well, and builds up the right amount of suspense and intrigue, and you know that the outcome is going to be jaw dropping, and believe me it is! This is one of my shorter reviews, but as the blurb tells enough of what the book is about, I don’t need to go into any more detail on that and I don’t want to give anything away! Just know that this is an amazing read and I can’t wait to see what Shalini comes up with next. I can’t recommend this book enough! Thank-you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Shalini Boland for allowing me to read an advance copy of The Marriage Betrayal in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and are not biased in anyway.

    Great Read

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. This was a great thriller. I had a very hard time putting it down, and every time I thought I figured out what was happening a new twist in the plot was revealed. This is true up until the very last page. WOW . Two couples and their children all go on a holiday together to celebrate Jake's birthday. Faye, Jake's wife, plans the whole trip and feels horrible that the trip is not what they all thought it would be, and everyone wants to leave early. Then, Jake and Dylan (their son) go to watch dolphins on the cliffs and never return. The police and all involved are convinced there must have been a terrible accident and set up a huge search to find them. Eventually clues are discovered, the plot twists and turns, and answers are revealed. This book is written with chapters alternating between the past and present, giving readers much needed background information and look into the character's lives. The storyline and characters were well developed and made for a gripping thriller. I never saw the ending coming. This is a must read for any fan of a great thriller!! Thank you NetGalley.
