Enjoyable read, you will keep turning the pages

Three women Marisa, Claire and Elly. Three friends. All of them have secrets not just from each other but also from their husbands or partners. Marisa is unhappily married to Avery a narcissistic plastic surgeon who flirts with every attractive woman he sees and takes his wife Marisa or Ris as she is called by her friends for granted. She is lonely since her twin daughters have gone off to university in LA feeling empty nest syndrome. She wants to help her friends in any way she can and is there for them. So when a young woman Jody turns up at Marisa’s house she feels she has to help her. Jody reminds her of herself when she was younger. Claire is desperate to have a baby with her husband Dane but it’s not happening she is so insecure terrified she is going to lose her husband who she loves deeply but is hiding secrets from him that she fears will end her marriage. Is it Claire’s fault that she isn’t able to conceive a child? What secrets is she hiding? And does Dane have secrets from Claire as well? Elly no longer trusts men after finding out her now ex husband was already married and had 3 children with his other wife, living a double life. But who is her lover and who is she going to hurt most when the wife finds out which she will as Elly is going to tell her herself when the time is right. There are so many secrets between the women and their husbands in this book you will think you have guessed it and then the story goes in a different direction and you have to rethink. This is a very well written book which just keeps you guessing. The story is told through the three different female characters perspectives. I enjoyed reading it although it’s slightly different to my usual reading. I’m not sure that any of the women are really very likeable. Marisa is probably the more genuine in ways that she just wants to help people but I feel this is because she is so lonely in an unhappy marriage but she enjoys the money and security that that marriage brings. I did stay up until 4 in the morning to finish this though so that goes to show how good it is I just had to know the answers and the twist at the end which I had actually guessed a couple of chapters before the end. If you haven’t read anything by Nicola Marsh and you like a psychological thriller then this is a good place to start. Thank you to #netgalley #Bookouture #NicolaMarsh for letting me have an ARC of this book all opinions are mine and honest.

    A twisted web of deceit!

This is my first Nicola Marsh book and I can't wait to read the next one! I loved this tangled web of friendship and lies, which kept teasing me into one line of thinking, only to make me realise I'd got it all wrong and something else entirely was happening. The writing style flows along at a brilliant pace and I stopped everything until I'd got to the end. Just one more chapter, I kept telling myself, then I had to read the next and the next. Phew! A cracking read :) Loved it.

    The Scandal

Wow I did not see that coming.....can't say I liked the three friends too much or the way they lived but I was intrigued by them. Quite a strange life they lived . As they say 'money does not buy happiness'. So true in this case. But the book was so well written you have to keep reading to the shocking end

    A fab read

Friendship, murder, secrets, and betrayal are my favorite words while reading a book. Nicola Marsh's book is one such goodie which made me want to keep reading and not allow the story to end. But the book ended with goosebumps... Omg... Omg I have to shriek it out... OMG!! Friendship between three ladies Elly, Marissa, Claire had its own ups and downs, but there was one who was hiding the biggest secret which could destroy their relationships. Enter a fourth one, Jodi, and the equation changed. One lone woman made someone so insecure and scared that they had to bring everything to status quo. Nicola Marsh has done it, written a fabulous book. There were twists upon twists. Even the last chapter did not allow me to take a deep breath. It was just a massive rush of adrenaline, as if I was freefalling. What I thought to be a domestic thriller turned out to be so much more darker. Initially the warmth and the secretive way the characters revealed their story caused a wicked emotion to bubble inside me, knowing I was on to something forbidden. But later, the secrets that rushed out were like the flames of fire, burning everything down its path. This book was nothing but a twisted vine which gripped me from the beginning to the end. I was in a state of absolute euphoria after reading it. A rocking unputdownable thriller. What a rush!!
