  • Loved this

This is a gem of a book, quirky and amusing but sad and heartfelt at the same time, I really enjoyed that the main character was male and a well crafted figure at that, regretful and lonely and someone for whom life has no colour save for his 9 year old daughter Poppy. He tries so hard to be a good dad, feeding her nutritious food and structuring time and activities for her but he’s also forgotten how to live and have fun too. He’s not an impulsive person however when he sees a woman falling from a bridge he acts on instinct and the consequences are unexpected, taking him right out of his comfort zone and setting the scene for an unusual but glorious story. There’s a marvellous cast of characters and I loved the letters and the modern day reminder of something lost through technology.

    Thanks for your feedback!
