  • Great mystery!

Ooh, this was a fabulous mystery! My first thought was, how terrifying to wake up in hospital, unaware of how you got there and not knowing your own name. Sophie’s confusion was so well written, I felt as though I was taking this journey of exploration with her. There was the threat of whatever violence she’d been subjected to coming back for another go. That kept me whizzing through the book. I loved the settings. Dovemore was so atmospheric it gave me a shiver as Sophie was experiencing it. History oozed from its foundations and I lapped up the story of Zenaida which ran through the book. The same dwelling had at first felt like a safe haven but this soon took a more sinister turn. I never knew what to expect from it which kept me guessing. The town of Hazel Bluff felt like the perfect backdrop for the novel too. Nathaniel and Lincoln’s characters brought a lot to the story and as the Sophie got to know them, I began to feel like there was even more at stake for her as tensions rose. As the mystery began to unravel, the stakes upped and I had to know how things would end for Sophie. The ending was full on nail biting. If you love a solid mystery with a great big helping of threat, then The Silent Girl is a fab read for you! I couldn’t put it down.

  • couldn't put it down

I always like a well done, I’m not sure who I am thriller and am glad this one lived up to the blurb. Jane Doe/Sophie wakes up in a hospital not knowing how she got there or who she is yet she fears someone is after her. She ends up at Dovemorn house, a supposedly haunted house, so she can hide from her past. There is the mystery of Sophie’s background and the mystery of Dovemorn and the grounds. I was engrossed in both. I like that while you don’t know much about Sophie’s background, she is a complex character. Thrillers are usually plot driven but the author took the time to let us know Sophie. And I loved reading about her releasing stress in her drawing. I would’ve liked a better wrap up on the Dovemorn mystery, but that is the only thing I would change.

  • Amnesia story with surprises

This story has you on a journey with the main character waking up in a hospital not knowing her name or what has happened to her. Struggling with information that slowly comes back to you and trying to process it and make decisions for your life going forward. This story will have you wondering how you would handle memories and trying to know what is real and what is just a nightmare. I really enjoyed this story and how Sophie/Dora comes to know herself. Thanks to Netgalley for complimentary copy.

  • Who Is Watching

As you begin this book your thoughts are what happened to this girl, horrific injuries, and she is still alive. Blessedly, Sophie doesn’t know who she is or where she was, but those memories creep back, This read will keep you on the edge of your seat and not let you go. Who is watching? Why? As the facts unfold, we get a look into the life of a young girl, holding guilt and a brother that was there for her, or was he? If you like a book that grabs you and doesn’t want to let go, this one will be right up your alley! Enjoy! I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher
