  • Twists and turns

The Silent Witness is a heart pounding fast paced read. Amanda and her partner Trent are called to the scene when the parents of a little girl are murdered in their home and Zoe is missing. The action is non stop from here on in. Although this is book 3 in the series, it is my first Amanda Steele book and I had no trouble following the relationships in the book. I am amazed I have missed this series and I can tell you now that I will backtrack the series (and Carolyn Arnold's other books). I cant wait to read book 4 in the Amanda Steele series.

  • Wowza!😧

🙈🙉🙊Tragic, exciting stuff!😧 Excellent and fast-paced crime thriller set in suburban Northern Virginia with a scared little girl at the center of a deadly case involving cold-blooded murder and indications of criminal connections in high places. I really got caught up in poor young Zoe's nightmare of a loss and her quick connection with Detective Amanda Steele (who's had her own share of personal tragedy). I meant to read it in stages but once started I just had to read through to the end. A definite recommend from me. Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

  • An Incredible Read

Silent Witness was such a good read! It was a fresh new case that tied in previous books in various ways. The case was also much bigger than anyone could have originally imagined. Zoe made the book have an emotional touch as a lot of the case was surrounding Zoe, finding out who killed her parents, why they were killed, and keeping Zoe safe (along with the consequences of the trauma the little girl was going through). Just this one character added so much to the storyline and really put a whole new spin on the book. I felt the “action” per se, was a little slower than past books, but that did not make me enjoy it any less. In fact, I am looking forward to another book in the series to see how the end of Silent Witness plays out. I loved chasing this case with Amanda and Trent. There were other parts of the book that I loved as well, but I can’t share (you know, spoiler alert!) If you haven’t read any of the Detective Amanda Steele books, you could pick this one up and not be lost, but I highly recommend grabbing all of them and reading them in order. I think you will find it even more enjoyable, but this one just might be my favorite! Silent Witness will definitely provide you breath holding, heart pounding mystery with just a touch of heart and humor to make it an incredible read!

  • Another great book in this series

This is such a great series, and this third book was the best one yet. Amanda is called to a double murder, and the daughter, a six year old, is missing. When Amanda finds Zoe, the missing girl, she is tasked with the job of protecting her from those who murdered her parents. Amanda's heart is torn with the need to make this little girl's life better, and protecting her heart from the memories of her late daughter. Things with the case get tough, and an old case gets revisited . As always, danger and action seems to be at every turn. Could not put this one down once I started. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

  • fighting to keep a witness alive

The 3rd installation of the Detective Amanda Steele series and it's better than the last! Amanda is called out of court to report to the double homicide of a couple and learns their 6 year old daughter, Zoe, is missing. Amanda finds her hiding and discovers that she witnessed the murder of her father. The killers learn that Zoe is still alive and come after her. Amanda will stop at nothing to protect her. From secrets her parents reveal, investigating the homicides, and keeping Zoe safe, Amanda has almost more than she can handle. The human-trafficking ring from the previous 2 books makes another appearance. I didn't want to put this book down. Amanda and her partner, Trent's relationship is very strong and they seem to grow a little bit more together.
