    Thanks for your feedback!

    Gutsy book, great read

Ifeoma’s name means “good thing”, and that’s certainly the case with this extraordinary heroine and the wonderful book she appears in. We journey with her as she stands up for her sister, escapes her abusive father, and begins to fall in love with Mr Frown-face (Chuma) over a bowl of homemade soup. Truly “a life of thorns and roses”. I particularly enjoyed the local details of the setting and the originality of the characters: flawed, struggling, and oh-so-human. A visceral and satisfying read.
