    Secrets Aplenty!

Lady Elizabeth is the eldest daughter of Thomas Wilde, the Duke of Sherrington. The Duke has supposedly been ill for many years. However, his three daughters witness an actual attack and are terrified for him. Lady Elizabeth goes to hire a Runner to investigate. Dysart is the Runner she ends up bringing home. Dysart uses many appearances for his job, but are any of them real? He and Elizabeth have chemistry between them, but he's not of her class... Secrets aplenty in this mystery! Humor does, too! Well worth the read! First in a series. Book free thru Netgalley for honest review.

Great characters, just wanted a bit more.

Lady Elizabeth "Lizzy" Wilde is concerned for her father! He is usually feigning illness so when he calls his daughters, Lizzy, Caro, and Pippin to his rooms, they expect the same old same old. But this time seems different and they witness an episode of excruciating stomach pain. He them tells them they must have the annual house party and do their best to find husbands. He had even written a list of eligible men for them to invite including their second cousin and heir, Snowley, whom it is assumed will marry Lizzy, though she loathes him. The sisters begin to worry that after all the years of their father thinking he is ill, that he really is this time. Lizzy can not accept that her father is so ill. She grows suspicious. So before this house party is to begin, she decides to run to Bow street and find someone to investigate matters. There she meets a runner named Dysart. He seems pretty rough, but he can adapt, so he says, to fit in as whomever is needed to investigate her father's illness. She takes him at his word and they go back to get ready for the house party. Lizzy is intrigued by this initial of a man. he seems to be able to play the part of a gentlemen very easily, almost too easily. But she needs to figure out what is going on with her father so she tries to ignore the interest. Dysart, is definitely interesting! He has a secret but we aren't sure what it is until later on in he book. The writing is wonderful! The tension between Dysart and Lizzy is palpable. The jealousy and possessiveness of Snowley is well written, I loathed him for Lizzy! LOL The sisters are also interesting characters and all the players at this house party make a good story. The only thing that was a detracting is the fact that we only few to meet a few of the house guests. Not many are mentioned. Just the main players. overall I liked the book, a good story, though I've read others with the same idea. I would read this author again. The flow of the book was great. *I received this book from Netgalley*Lady Elizabeth "Lizzy" Wilde is concerned for her father! Fun and Enticing from the start

This is a very intriguing story. It has all the elements that will keep you glued to your seat to get to the outcome. I really enjoyed how detailed the characters were and how the settings were placed throughout. The book maintains the time period references accurately and transports the reader back in time to watch over the shoulders of the fascinating characters as they traverse the through the mystery at the heart of the story. This book introduces us to the Wilde sisters who didn't really have the typical noble upbringing. They all have a mind of their own and aren't afraid to share what is on their minds. At times the story is funny, exciting, mysterious and above all romantic while two very different characters fight an attraction that is too strong to overcome.
