    An enjoyable read

This is the first Kathryn Freeman book that I have read and although it was enjoyable unfortunately I didn’t find myself rushing to continue to read it, hence why I have only given it 4 stars. The story is based around Lizzie and Nick, who is Lizzie’s Brother’s best friend, who have been friends since childhood. They both are secretly in love with each other but neither realises it and this leads to misunderstandings for them both. Lizzie is a top model and Nick is an accountant but when tragedy strikes Lizzie needs Nick more than ever but pushes him away due to the guilt she feels. However a few years later when Lizzie needs him due to an incident that could ruin her career, Nick is by her side helping her through it. There is a lot of will they/won’t they moments in this book and I really liked the characters, especially Nick who was definitely a hero and someone I’m sure we would love to have in our lives, handsome, fit and caring. If you love a good romance then this is the book for you. Thanks to Choc-Lit for providing me with a review copy of this book in return for an honest review which is completely my own opinion.

Great story with wonderful characters you will rea

Loved this story and could not put it down! Nick is the boy next door - loyal, dependable and just a really "nice" guy. Lizzie moves to the USA to become an international model. Can these two ever find true love in such different worlds? You really start to care about these two characters and what makes them tick and act as they do. You will laugh and cry with them. This is my favourite novel this year!

    Great Read!

Lizzie and Nick – the love story that never was. Nick loved Lizzie when she was 18 but was prevented from acting on it when she announced her move to New York for a modeling contract. Lizzie loved Nick but was prevented from acting on it after a tragic accident and her resulting feelings of not deserving his love. Circumstances have brought them together again – will love finally shine through for them both? This novel was a tear-jerker for me. I enjoyed both characters tremendously and enjoyed the twists and turns as they navigated back to each other. I was provided a free advance copy of this book in return for an honest review. My honest review is that this book was fantastic and I will be going back to read others by this same author – she has a real way with bringing out the emotions in her characters. Well done!

    A lovely read

Who’s just too damned nice? Lovely Nick Templeton is. He’s the boy next door, the one who picked up the pieces when Lizzie and her brother Robert went off the rails. He’s the one who comforts Lizzie when Robert has a terrible car accident. Now he has to sit and watch from afar while beautiful Lizzie heads off to Los Angeles to take up a career as a model, a career that zooms her to stardom. Has she forgotten Nick? It seems not and is pleased to see him when he journeys over to check on her and poor Robert. But Lizzie now lives in a glamorous world populated by film and music stars. Nick just can’t compete. Ms Freeman has the wonderful knack of transporting her readers, in this case, into the Los Angeles glamour scene. Her characters are just so likeable I’d like them to be my friends! A very soothing read that made me want to read it in one go.

    Too Damn Nice

Lizzie is a model. She is beautiful & stunning and loves the glamour & glitz involved. Nick is an acountant, a brother's best friend, sees himself as boring but reliable. At 18 Lizzie moves away to New York to become a model for a giant modelling agency there . She has an amazing career and throws herself into that to forget about those she loves but left behind. She has difficult times and on one particular occassion, asks her family to come over because she feels so alone. On their way to her, they are involved in a road accident, she loses both parents and her brother is left in a coma. Her brother's best friend, Nick, has always had a soft spot for Lizzie and drops everything to be with her, comfort and protect her. When things are settling down again, Lizzie (Elizabeth in the model world) wakes to find herself in the middle of a sex scandal that she has no knowledge of and is likely to ruin her career. Hiding herself away she avoids everyone and everything. Nick arrives banging on her door demanding she speak to him. Lizzie has to try to recall what has happened, Nick already knows everything as it's been plastered all over the papers and Internet. He arranges a top US attorney to help Lizzie and whisks her back to England to get away from everything and where he can keep a watchful eye on. Unbeknown to each other, they have had feelings for each other but neither will admit it. A classic case of stubbornness and pride with a humongous dose of will she / won't she .... will they/won't they... along with lots of giggles and a fair few tears and a generous dose of heart in the mouth moments thrown in too. Another delightful read from the lovely Kathryn. She manages to hook you into the story until you are so absorbed you find yourself pretending you are that person. In case there is any uncertainty, I loved this one ! 😂
