    I love Shannon Mayer

I love Shannon Mayer's Elemental series. She takes you on a ride that keeps you turning the page in anticipation. Lark is a dynamic hero that you can't stop rooting for. She makes you laugh and cry- sometimes at the same time! The world of the Elemental's is rich in details. Shannon paints a picture you do not easily forget. The only thing that I dislike was the beginning. It started to abruptly and as if you just read the previous one. I had to go back to the end of the last book to refresh my memory. I would highly recommend this book and this author. I have received an ARC for my honest review.

Can't wait to read it again!

I have received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review. This is book four in the series so don't start with this one...but make sure you start the series! Fabulous series with a strong female character. She's flawed, and while she's not human, she feels like one. The story is fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. I don't want to give any of the story away, so this review will be vague. Ms. Mayer writes people that I would like to meet, and does it so well you feel like you are with them on their quests and during their struggles. Lark does "kick ass" even better than Rylee (another great series) and you can't help but cheer her on! She suffers from some of the decisions she has to make, but I think she comes into her own during this book. We don't know what happened to everyone, but I felt that Lark arrived at where she needs to be. When I finished the book I was filled with anticipation to see what will happen next. I highly recommend this book both for the story and for the writing. I read between 4-7 books a week, and nothing ruins it more than scenes that disconnect, or dialogue that doesn't sound natural. Ms Mayer succeeds at keeping the story flowing and the conversations believable (even when they are taking about the supernatural). It was a pleasure to read, and I look forward to doing it again.

    Windburn

I was given this copy as an arc for an honest review. Lark's father is missing and she needs to find him. She doesn't even have any idea where to look. She was told to find a tracker. This is where it gets interesting. If you have read any of the Rylee series (Which is an awesome series) you will understand what I am talking about. You will notice that some of the people Lark meets are from that series. Some of the gaps you are wondering from the Priceless book will be answered. This is an awesome book from beginning to end. Lark has to travel to many different places to try to locate her father. She meets different elementals. It is very interesting. You will simply adore this book. It is a very awesome read.

All the Feels and Then Some!

All the Feels and Then Some Paranormal lovers are absolutely missing out if they don’t inhale every word of this series. Larkspur’s journey of evolution and self-discovery not only continues in Windburn but picks up a momentum that takes you to the last page feeling wrung out and wrecked. Lark’s metamorphosis wouldn’t be complete without Peta, and a surprising new companion came into the picture and quickly won over my heart. I’m so excited to see what role he has to play in future books. Peta is always going to be a favorite of mine, and I don’t believe Lark’s personal journey would’ve progressed as far without her feline friend. She’s truly more than a friend or companion -- she’s her heartmate. The young girl who entered Ender training alone and unloved is becoming the nucleus at the center of an unconventional family. She has so much to endure in Windburn, and my emotions ranged from heartfelt warmth to anxious fear to heartbreak and relief. In some ways it feels like the journey is just beginning, but looking back Larkspur has already come so far. No matter where Shannon takes Larkspur and her friends next, I’m loyally along for the ride -- even if I am biting my cuticles in anxious anticipation!

    Gripping!

Shannon Mayer is the queen of urban fantasy and each book I read, she just gets better at her craft. This is book 4 in the Elemental Series, so if you are just starting with this one, STOP! and go back or you will be very confused! Lark is pretty much an outcast or black sheep of the royal family and her dad is kinda crazy but she still loves them all, well, most of them anyway and is always doing what's best for her family regardless of how it affects her. She is a bit immature to me in the ways of love but I enjoy reading about her escapades, so it's good with me! Lark is dealing with the air elemental in this installment and it seems that no one is ever nice when it comes to her! Tensions mount, danger arises, Lark has to make choices that are near impossible and sacrifices that will haunt her. She doesn't have it easy by any means and you will feel every emotion right along with her. *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*
