    The Christmas Card

The book starts with the bailiffs cart, outside a house where a mother and her daughter are having to live with the mothers sister in law, she March's them along to her property. The mother had been ailing so the daughter (Alice) was pleading with her aunt Jane to get a cart to Jane house. But she wouldn't spend the money on getting a cart. Once in the house to say at least was spartan, no fires in rooms apart from living room. Jane had found Alice a job as a child's nurse maid, from there Alice brings the naughty child (Flora) to live like a normal happy child, when she is away from her adopted mum (Lydia). Flora was brought out on show when Lydia wanted her friends how good a mother she was. The father (Frederick) and his brother owned a printing business. Rory was very keen to get into printing Christmas cards. They had been produced once but the company never managed to sell very many. So from then on the intermingling life of Flora, whom Alice fell in love with through the different scrapes. Flora was sent too a boarding school to keep her safe. After having been whisked away from a gang thar worked in London, to read more on this exciting book you'll just have to read it. I couldn't put it down.

    The Christmas Card

Lovely story and I am sure it will be another best seller for Dilly Court. I love all her books.
