A sweet romance, with a side of heat.

Seeking Solace is the first book I've read by Ari McKay and I liked it a lot. It's the third book in The Walker Boys series but can easily be read as a standalone. I haven't had time to read the first two yet and I didn't feel lost at all by reading just this one. This was a really sweet story with a few sexy scenes that weren't overly graphic. Both of the MCs (main characters) have been hurt by past relationships. Paul lost part of one leg in an accident and it has left him feeling less than whole after his boyfriend dumped him and other men he tried to date couldn't handle his scars. Devin's past relationship ended when he found out his wealthy boyfriend was just using him to make his parents mad. Paul is incognito on board a ship in his family's cruise line to learn more about how things work on a ship since he will be taking over the company reins when his father retires. Devin is working as a bartender hoping to move up to a position in the kitchen so he can use his culinary school training; he eventually wants to open his own restaurant. I really liked the sweet, yet hot, chemistry between Devin and Paul. Both are afraid to start anything since they expect to be parting at the end of the two-week cruise. When Devin is assigned to liaison with Paul, to help him learn more about the ship, they both find it impossible to resist the feelings they have for each other. Things go wrong when Devin learns who Paul is before Paul has a chance to tell Devin himself and Devin feels used again by a wealthy man. I really enjoyed this story. The pacing was good and the words flowed well making it an easy and entertaining story to read. Now I want to go back and read the first two stories! An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author. ***Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions dot com***
