    A surprising twist

Oh lord what just happened ? This was definitely the book to shake me out of a reading slump. Terra is proving to be such a strong, smart and resilient character that I’m finding it difficult to critique this without gushing . Terra might be human or at least that’s what everyone thought but her visions and everything else that’s happening mean she’s starting to question herself . Terra’s about to get faced with the ugly side of Portiside though as her latest murder case takes her deep into the Shifters territory and worse still she’s about to meet what could well be her future in-laws ! This story has a somewhat unique murderer and yes his actions are heinous but in the hands of this author it had a surprising twist . I actually felt a huge amount of sympathy towards the killer but what followed made my blood boil. No real spoilers here hopefully but Kalebs family are totally beyond the pale and I was left speechless at what transpired. I am a little shocked at things happening here and some of these characters could really incite me to violence so the way this story ends to me makes complete sense. As for the romance side I’m loving Kaleb and I’m so glad the author chose him as Terra’s love interest as I honestly lost all respect for Cole with his posturing and screwed sense of duty. He does make an appearance here and obviously from my introduction it’s clear that he’s not the only member of Kalebs family we meet. Unfortunately this book does raise more questions about just who exactly is pulling the political strings but with Terra and her crew on the hunt I’m expecting a tumultuous ride.
