  • Rogue Christmas Operation

Rogue Christmas Operation by Juno Rushdan Fugitive Heroes: Topaz Unit book 1. Harlequin romantic suspense. Gage saves Hope from drowning and brings her to the medical center in Benediction, Virginia. A town she’s been forbidden from entering. Hope will do whatever is necessary to find information on her sister and that includes a fake accident and taking advantage of Gage and his access to the town. Wow. Immediate intensity and suspense. Didn’t like that she lied to him with part of her story but she does fix that. I couldn’t imagine such “government” lock down as no available internet, no online shopping, no cell phones or service which means no streaming services, etc. what would I do without my new downloaded dozen books every week? A furious pace, and an impassioned relationship, this story was engaging. Can’t wait for he next in the series!

  • Captivating book

I have enjoyed the Harlequin Intrigue books for years, because I love a great romantic suspense (and this book definitely delivered). Hope doesn't believe that her sister (Faith) committed suicide, so she is determined to find out the truth about what really happened. As she travels to the town of Benediction to find out more she is rescued from drowning by a rogue intelligence agent named Gage Graham. Gage is hiding and staying off the grid, but he promises Hope that he will help her find answers to what really happened to her sister. During their undercover investigation they get caught up in danger several times, and have to figure out how to stay alive to find the truth. This book had me on the edge of my recliner several times! I love the action, suspense, and romance that this book delivers in spades. I voluntarily received an ARC of this book from the author Juno Rushdan. I was not required to leave a positive review, and the thoughts and opinions are my own.

  • Great start to a series

While I picked this partially because Christmas is in the title… I wouldn’t really label this a “holiday read” because there isn’t much besides snow & cold weather to indicate the time of year. That said - I really enjoyed this romantic suspense by Juno Rushdan. I love this kind of series where each book is a complete story but there’s also a mystery that spans the series and joins all the books together. Gage is an ex-CIA operative in hiding and Hope is searching for answers regarding her sister’s death. They cross paths and Gage is compelled to help Hope out in her quest for the truth. While I generally like a little less “insta” in my love stories - it worked well here. Lots of mystery, suspense, & action. Add in a strong attraction and a little bit of sexy and it’s a solid start to a series. Ends on an HFN and teases the rest of Gage’s team. I’ve already pre-ordered Alaskan Christmas Escape (book 2) which comes out on November 30th.
