Kobo Kids' accounts will be closed on April 3, 2018. All existing account credits and books automatically transfer to the associated Kobo accounts held by the parent.
Why is Kobo closing Kobo Kids' accounts?
Kobo Kids' accounts were being used by a low number of people. As a result, we are re-focusing our resources on expanding our digital reading experience to offer our readers personalized book recommendations.
We are believers that the love of reading is fostered at an early age, and we encourage kids and parents to read together. And although kids' accounts are being retired, our expert team of merchandisers will continue to expand our kids and young adult catalogues, ensuring we offer the best books for your children.
What happens to the existing books and credits to existing kids' accounts?
- Go to kobo.com
- Sign in to your account.
- Click My Account at the top of the screen.
- Click Account Settings.
- Click the Kids' Account tab. You'll see the remaining balance left in your accounts.
Do you offer parental controls? Will my kids have access to inappropriate content?
Although we do not offer parental controls, we encourage parents and children to browse our kids and young adult catalogues together, to find their next great read. Our team works diligently to ensure appropriate filters are in place in order to only show customers books that are related to their specific search terms.
