    Riveting Great Lake Cozy Mystery

College friends meet for a reunion and things go badly. The plot is great with many twists and turns. Nothing is as it seems. This book is part of the Vintage Kitchen cozy series and it stands alone very well. A few recipes are included, but the food is not the focus of these stories. I received this ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest review.

Reunion of old friends can be difficult

Jaymie is hosting a girls-only reunion of her college roommates while her husband and stepdaughter are in Poland visiting relatives. One friend brings an unannounced friend, two friends are having marriage problems, one friend is in a writing funk, and most of them are not getting along. Jaymie begins to remember that it wasn’t always fun times with the roommates and questions how much they have changed. A local handyman, involved with several women, is murdered and Jaymie is worried one of her friends may be involved. Jaymie is a people-pleaser and her view of her friends seems rather biased. She finally faces the truth and comes to appreciate her friends...though in smaller doses! She appreciates her friends and her life more than ever.

Not for me but not bad

This small-town, multi-character, whodunit is a part of the Vintage Kitchen Mystery series. Set in a small town, the main character, Jaymie, has planned a college reunion filled with fun but the fun reunion is derailed early on by unexpected guests and the murder of a citizen of the town. This book is not really my favorite but I know that there are a lot of followers of this series. I am a bottom line kind of girl so the in-depth background on characters and the very descriptive writing made it difficult for me to get into the story.

    Good Mystery!

I liked this book, the mystery was very challenging with unique characters and a diabolical plot. Although it was slow in the beginning, and it continued to be very drawn out. I received an advanced reader's copy from Netgalley for an honest review.

    A Compelling Mystery

I loved this fabulous cozy mystery! This is the first time that I have read anything by Victoria Hamilton and I adored her masterful writing. Cast Iron Alibi was a wonderful blend of mystery and old friendships and many of the characters were great individuals, whilst some were less so. The author managed the pacing perfectly within the awesome and absorbing plot. With no shortage of suspects, there was plenty of clues and possibilities to satisfy even the most enthusiastic and diligent of armchair detectives. A superb read, very highly recommended and well-worth five stars. I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel, at my request, from Beyond The Page Publishing via NetGalley and this review is my own unbiased opinion.
