    Wonderful humorous read with feeling

I really enjoyed this, to find love again with the one that got away only to possible let it slip away again is just heartbreaking. One should live life to the fullest but so many of us just live without knowing what that is because we are afraid of what the future holds, afraid to be hurt as we find in Melinda case. I always thought Melinda was a wonderful character and was so glad to see her get her own story. Melinda is down on her luck, losing her job, finding out the bakery she worked at when she was younger is going up for sale the dearly loved old man is selling it. To add to more stress Nate her first love is back, her best friend from her childhood that left without saying good-bye. How much more can a girl take? She needs to get her life together and she finally comes up with a plan for her dream job. Now it seems her dead father stands in the way, that is just the start of her problems what the heck is she going to do about Nate? Susan gives us a lovely plot and wonderful characters trying to find their way, maybe redoing a mistake or regret. These characters must not only find their way but learn to trust and take chance before time runs out. I found the words to flow so fast that this was really a quick read that I didn’t want to put down. There are places in this book where you really would love to shake Melinda, where there are other places your heart almost breaks for her. I just loved Nate he knows what he wants and is not afraid to go for it. He is strong, loving and just an all round wonderful man. He has humor, and tells it like it is why he is compassionate and caring. I found this to be a very touching story of love gone wrong for all the right reasons. So much to learn to just come right back to where they started years ago. This is another win read for me from one of my favorite authors who gives us a wonderful humorous read with feeling. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a short read that is light but has a meaning with a wonderful ending.

    A girl's story

She was not happy in her job, so, on impulse, she helped an old friend out in his bakery. She was her own worst enemy until she let go of deep~seated wounds.
