I knew I knew what the title meant

Reads well and like Rebus novels the unique landscape of Iceland is becoming a character. Now I must go see if the genetic research is happening there. It would be the ideal place.

    Intriguing Icelandic mystery.

An old man is found lying dead in a basement flat with a head wound. Among his photos is the picture of a gravestone and a cryptic note has been left with the body, so begins an intriguing mystery. I enjoyed that this mystery had a number of threads that eventually tied together, plus another storyline that was seemingly unrelated to the main story at first but you understand later why it was included. I will be reading more from Indridason!
