    5 Happy, happy stars

Oh, my lord above. This book?? I don’t think I’ve ever smiled quite as hard before. This sweet, sexy, smile-athon of a story was just THE best book ever. If you’re feeling down, or just read too many dark, or angsty stories then Once Upon a Real Good Time by Lauren Blakely is the perfect antidote. Campbell and MacKenzie are such down to earth characters, they will steal your heart the moment you meet them. Campbell is a music tutor by day, musician by night and just happens to be one of the ‘Heartbreakers’ a legendary trio of brothers from the 90’s. This rock god is now playing in bars incognito and that’s how he and MacKenzie meet. Single dad Campbell plays the guitar and knows all the ways to strum a woman’s body, plus ge’s drop dead gorgeous, sexy as the day is long and has a devilishly dirty mouth. Yeah, that mouth was sooo dirty. Filthy, hot and all the girls will wants him. He’s the newest top BBF to hit the charts. But, it’s the look in his eyes that capture Mac’s attention and his voice. God, can that man sing.. And play. MacKenzie’s life didn’t go quite the way she planned in college, but she wouldn’t change a thing. She runs her own graphic design business, is a mom raising her music prodigy son alone and has a great best friend, plus she still has her son’s father in her life, they’re just not together. So, what else could she need? Love and romance and a hot who treats her right and keeps her happy and satisfied, inside and outside the bedroom, and that’s what Campbell does. I loved how real these two were together, they attraction was instant, their chemistry was so hot it sizzled between them. There was no pretending between them either, which was fun. But, there was a stumbling block or rather two, to their blossoming romance. Can they find a will to tick all the boxes and have the family they each have been secretly longing for? Well, I for one am still smiling so what does that tell you!!! One-Click today and get your own happy on.

    Hot!

Once Upon a Real Good Time by Lauren Blakely is book one in her new series, The Heartbreakers. A three-book series that stars the Hart brothers: Mason, Miller and Miles. The first book focuses on Campbell Mason Evans (aka Mason Hart) and his life now that he is no longer part of the Heartbreakers, though his brother Miller keeps asking to get the band back together. Instead, Campbell is playing incognito with an indie band while raising his fifteen year old daughter, Samantha, and teaching music as a private tutor. When his band plays at a bar during trivia night, he can't tear his eyes off the woman enthusiastically playing trivia while watching his every move on stage as he gets ready to play. What starts off as simple eyes meeting across the room, then weeks later a night to remember, soon leads to an awkward moment when reality intrudes and Campbell finds the woman he is attracted to is the mother to his new music student. Mackenzie is definitely hot for teacher, but with her son Kyle being her main priority, she and Campbell put their feelings on hold. What I love is that a lot of this story was seeing their friendship grow into love and I enjoyed their moments with their kids. Ms. Blakely really pulls you into this romance that is not only sexy and funny, but heartwarming with its emphasis on family. The kids Kyle and Samantha were charming and stole the show. Overall, Once Upon a Real Good Time by Lauren Blakely is a fun read and very enjoyable. I happily recommend. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

    4.5 Stars - Absolutely Adored!

This was so good! I'm giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion. I absolutely adored this ARC. The characters were fantastic, the story flowed, there were some great sexy times, and lots of sweetness. Seeing the way Campbell and Mackenzie interacted with their kids was adorable. They're fantastic parents, and I was rooting for them from the very beginning. Campbell is definitely going on my book boyfriend list, and I think his brothers might be joining him once I read their books. The book was told in dual POV, and I loved seeing both sides to this story. In addition to loving Mackenzie and Campbell, I liked Kyle, Samantha, Jamison, Miller, Ally, and lots of others too. There wasn't really anyone in this that I didn't enjoy reading about. If you had doubts about how much I enjoyed this, I read it in two sittings in the same day (finishing the entire book within 12 hours of starting it). I could have easily read it in one sitting, but I didn't want it to end that fast. I am super excited for the next book in this trilogy! Thankfully I won't have to wait very long. I highly recommend you check this one out if you love single parent romances, rock star/musical romances, or just a really cute contemporary with a bit of a fiery side.
