    Secret Hexe by Kat Parrish

From its magical retelling of Catherine the Great’s early days to its rich banquet of ornate detail, Secret Hexe by Kat Parrish is a book that will earn a high position on your list of re-reads. So far as genre goes, I don’t know where the story sits in any certifiable “mashup” category but Parrish weaves a unique tale in which a pseudo-secret society of witches tampers with the underpinnings of Catherine the Great’s early days. They influence her quest for power, protect her from trouble and guide her away from self-doubt, even aiding in the final push for the Russian throne. (Though there is little doubt who actually gains the upper hand in the end.) The author casts a spell to ensnare the reader in the actual history, culture and architecture of the day while the narrative intersects with mysterious beings, magical potions, and shadowed dream palaces where disembodied spies haunt the royal succession in search of any or all advantage. Secret Hexe’s abundant detail drips with decadence that grounds the reader in actual Russian history and magnifies the irony of a gold and jeweled intrigue over the right to rule an empire beset by poverty and famine. A spell-casting Catherine the Great seems well-suited to take on the challenge, and makes for a compelling character in a fantasy world that promises more enchanting adventures to come.

    Full of romance and magic!

This is a great set of over twenty fantasy books by various authors! So far, I have read the time travel romance “Reigning Magicks: A Witch In Time Book One” by Canadian authors J.J. King and Candace Osmond. I have read works by each of these authors before and I love their work, so it’s terrific to see a collaboration by them. This story did not disappoint! I like how the authors brought the past and present together through family ties and magic. Cian and Ashlynn are great characters and the romance between them is sizzling. I cannot wait to read more of their story! My only question is, “when can I read book two?”

    Filled with thrilling five-star reads

Rite To Reign fantasy collection is filled with thrilling five-star reads. In this collection the first one I read was Last Rites by Andie M Long, sometimes you can’t help but jump to the author you love, I will add more reviews when I read and enjoy each story. But for now, Last Rites was a gripping read, it explained itself as you read, so you weren’t left wondering about random stuff, something that bothers me so much. I know its fantasy and you leave your hangups at the beginning but still sometimes I wonder, anyhow, it explained details like how Mercy knew what she did and the whole story was just sublime, the brothers were well played and the twists well you won’t see them coming I know I didn’t. it was nicely done and once again proves what a talented author Andie M Long is.

I read Mermaid Queen. It was an amazing Little Mermaid retelling. I really loved this adult version. It grabbed my attention from the first page. While most of the story was predictable, I still loved the unique aspects that the author added. I can’t wait to read the rest of the stories in this anthology!
