    Thanks for your feedback!

    Thoroughly depressing and amazing

The Road was not an easy book to get into for two reasons. The first reason was that the subject matter was very dark, I found myself having to put my E-Reader down every now and again to process the things I was reading. The second reason was because the writing style took some getting used to. I don't fault the book for this as I think it added to the overall mood and once I got used to it it didn't bother me any more. To call this book an emotional roller-coaster would be an enormous understatement, while there are plenty of beautiful moments shared between the two protagonists they are overshadowed by a plethora of outright depressing moments. The author does NOT pull any punches when it comes to this and I love him for it. Anyone interested in post-apocalyptic fiction should read this book. Period.

    A good read but...

I felt that the story had little change from beginning to nearly the end to get some satisfaction.

This is a very sad book.

No zombies. Very sad. Inspired the song 'No Sound but the Wind' by the Editors. It's a very moving song and this is a very moving book.
