    couldn't put it down

I might have let out a squeal when I opened this book. The squealing didn’t stop at page one. I laughed. I giggled. I rolled on the floor laughing. I highlighted so many funny passages, one liners, and phrases that I had to start color coding. This book could do no wrong for me. What makes the story so funny is Sadie. The things that come out of her mouth. Sadie is the nun that ends up in a bar after getting off at the wrong MAX stop (Portland, Oregon’s light rail system) and her phone goes dead—Murphy’s law at its finest. Sadie isn’t your typical nun. She is a nun because that is what she knows. She has lived in the convent since the age of eight with her great aunt, the mother superior. Talk about sheltered!!! She walks into the bar and her heart goes all a flutter for Ryder, the gorgeous man behind the bar. She isn’t the only one that feels it. Ryder knows there is something there but won’t act on it. He sees to her safety and walks away. Fast forward four months, Sadie is no longer a nun. Everything is a new adventure, a new experience. A new phone has her accidently calling Ryder. Game on! Ryder knows that fate has brought them back together and he isn’t going to mess it up. I wonder if Ryder realized what he was getting into????? Sadie’s mouth has no filter. If she thinks it; she says it. She is clueless about the real world. I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry. I compromised and laughed so hard I cried. She has absolutely no experience with or knowledge of the opposite sex. She can't flirt. She has never been kissed. She is clueless about sex, but that is okay because there is still some nun in her. Ryder has the patience of a saint. He has women throwing themselves at him on a daily basis. And yet, he not only accepts Sadie’s terms of abstinence but they are monogamous. I have to wonder if all of Ryder’s cold showers caused a drought? All of this sweet, lovey dovey romance goes on while Ryder is trying to find his sister, a victim of human trafficking. You not only have the laughs, but you have suspense and horrible situations. Situations so horrible that you will be grateful for the laughs. So now the only question is how to rate Ryder. How many stars does a book deserve that sucks you in and refuses to let go until the end? How many stars does a book deserve that makes you laugh so hard that you wish you hadn’t had that last cup of tea? How many stars does a book deserve when all you do is hope it becomes the next major Rom Com at the theaters.

An amazing, fun story, full of emotions!

This is a new and improved revision of Piper Davenport's "A Nun Walks Into A Bar". I'm kind of ashamed to admit it, but I didn't read the original version. I looked at the cover, and the title, and assumed it wasn't something I would be interested in. I mean, really, a romance novel about a nun?!? How in the world could that be an interesting story? But, I should have known better. Having read (and loved!) all of the other books by this author, I should have known that there would be an amazing spin that would grab me and not let me go until the very end of the story. As the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover, but I did, and let me tell you, I totally missed out! This book is amazing! I caught hints of some of the characters in the last Dogs of Fire Book, Road to Grace, where they made a few cameo appearances, and I was intrigued enough to jump at the chance to read this edition. I was not disappointed, and totally loved Sadie, Ryder, and all of this misfit bunch! Sadie was brought up in the nunnery, under the care of her Aunt (who happens to be Mother Superior) after her parents died in a vehicle accident. A crazy turn of events leads to her taking shelter from the elements in a bar, where she meets Ryder, the owner. Sparks fly, even though it is forbidden for them to be together (She is a nun, after all!) Ryder has a shady past that he is very secretive of. Things heat up when his past comes back around, and leads to all kinds of crazy happenings! I love, love, loved this story! Sadie is just innocent enough that she still has a glass half full outlook on life. I love how protective Ryder is. They are simply amazing together! I loved meeting her friends, and his "crew". I'm totally looking forward to seeing more of them! This book was full of laughs, action, and, most importantly, family. All of the characters share a connection that made for an amazing story, fun and full of emotions!
