An Unputdownable Wonder From Start To Finish!

4.5 Stars | Hot Steam When I read the first Romancing the Clarksons novel, TOO HOT TO HANDLE, I felt zings of excitement with every page turn. I treasured Rita and Jasper and knew in my romance-loving soul that this spectacular family and their keeper-shelf stories were going to be unlike any others Tessa Bailey had written to date. And holy fantastic perfection! Forget zings. TOO WILD TO TAME electrified me into steamy submission with its brilliance. :) I mean it. This astonishing book delivered unputdownable wonder from start to finish. The wealth of emotion, urgency, immediacy, passion, and power of Grace and Aaron’s journey blew me away! I was spellbound...and anxious! Each time the percentage crept closer to 100% on my e-reader I would plead for it not to be over. Not yet! I needed more! More smiles, more tears, more swoons! I downright worshipped Grace and Aaron. Their connection was an entirely new level of glorious. First we are given glacier cold and painfully wound up alpha-male-extraordinaire, Aaron. He’s blindingly handsome, razor sharp, brave, commanding, hard working, and so very sexy. Next we stumble upon free-spirited, ice-melting, and ethereal Grace. She’s one-of-a-kind special—impossibly lovely, strong, kind, unpredictable, open, compassionate, vulnerable, sensual, and completely at odds with who you would assume to fit with a man like Aaron. But they do fit, sublimely so. And I hung on their every word and moment together. Grace rattles him, centers him, inspires him, unravels him, and helps him revive his humanity. And even though Aaron doesn’t think he deserves Grace, he can’t help but cherish her, support her, celebrate her, and love her unconditionally. He’s mad with fiery love for her. Simply devoted. They both are to each other. It’s beyond beautiful. And the heat level in this novel? A rarefied inferno. Leave it to Tessa Bailey to write sex scenes so singular, uncannily fresh, intense, molten hot, and criminally naughty. She is the Queen! When this series concludes we’ll all need to jump in the Atlantic along with the Clarksons to cool off. TOO WILD TO TAME is a must read! Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

    This Series Just Gets Better

Aaron Clarkson is the mover and shaker, the take-charge man, the man that always has a plan. And right now, his plan is to put his recent crash-and-burn behind him, the one that almost derailed his career, and get back in the game. Aaron isn't about to let a chance meeting with free-spirited Grace Pendleton throw him off course, but he's never met anyone like Grace before, and she's about to show him a whole other side of life. I am absolutely in LOVE with the Romancing the Clarksons series by author Tessa Bailey. This interesting and complex cast of characters has grabbed my heart and run with it, and I could not be enjoying these books more. Aaron is an interesting guy. He's the Clarkson that sees things the way that they are, that calls a spade a spade and to heck with emotions or feelings. It's just the way that he's always been, and he's comfortable with the status quo. A stop in Iowa during their cross-country trip to grant their dead mother's wish presents the perfect opportunity for Aaron to do what he does best. He knows the game of politics inside and out, and, if he can just spin things the right way, he'll be back in the thick of things in no time. Aaron comes across as self-centered, and a little bit amoral, and I wondered how he was going to redeem himself. Until Grace showed up. From moment one, she is the flame to his moth, and a force of nature that he cannot evade. It was insane. Everything was insane. She was forcing him to consider light and shadows, when he'd only ever dealt in black and white. And she was the light. Shining bright enough to flay him. He'd operated until now as if people were only hiding selfishness, the kind he didn't bother to conceal. But not Grace. She contradicted everything he held true and it made the earth shake under his feet. Grace knows what it's like to have her inner spark dimmed, and she's not doing it anymore. Living life on her terms, righting wrongs, doing good, Grace calls to something in Aaron, something long-buried, and makes him question everything that he thinks that he knows and wants. Grace is not without her own issues, having dealt with some very heavy issues in her past. But she looks deeper than Aaron's surface, and finds something that calls to her, too, believing in him before he believes in himself, in them. But when it finally clicks for Aaron, when he finally sees himself, the real him, underneath all of the shell that years of negative self-talk had created, it's magic. He'd been thrown into a vast ocean without a life jacket, and she was reaching out with something resembling help, but it was so foreign and nothing like he'd ever experienced that gripping on to it was difficult. Slipping. It kept slipping. What finally forced him to hold...on was Grace. She was in the same ocean. Maybe she was always there. What if having him reach out and clasp on was the rescue she needed? There are plenty of super-sexy moments in between all of the self-actualization that goes on. I mean, oh, MY, the heat. Aaron is one dirty talker, and the scenes between him and Grace are intense, and, at times, raw. When wide open meets tamped down, the point of intersection is sheer passion, and it is off-the-charts incendiary, which is something that I've come to expect in Tessa's books. This series just keeps getting better, and I cannot believe that I have to wait until next year to get the other books. These are stories that you don't want to miss. They're hot, they're emotional, and they wrap you right up and take you along for the always-interesting ride. 5 stars for TOO WILD TO TAME. Get these. Now. You can thank me later.

... behind the tragedies, scandals ... is love.

Aaron Clarkson is the man with a plan. His ambitious nature and smooth demeanor have landed him right in the middle of the action. His road to politics does not include getting distracted. One wrong move could incur another scandal. Enter Grace. A woman who is not afraid to dance to the beat of her heart. When she cares about something, she gives it her all and nothing stands in her way of doing what is right. So why is she drawn to the bad bad boy of politics? Why does Grace make Aaron want to become a better man? Too Wild to Tame is full of surprising twists, searing heat and the most important lesson of all: It's okay to be you. The Clarksons are an unconventional family but behind the tragedies, scandals and arguments there is love.

3.25 stars-Too Wild To Tame by Tessa Bailey

3.25 stars---TOO WILD TO TAME is the second installment in Tessa Bailey’s contemporary, adult ROMANCING THE CLARKSONS erotic, romance series focusing on the four Clarkson siblings. This is twenty six year old political advisor Aaron Clarkson, and senator’s daughter twenty three year old Grace Pendleton’s story line. TOO WILD TO TAME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty although I recommend reading the series in order for cohesion and backstory. The story line advances the series but a few days and picks up immediately upon the events of book one. SOME BACKGROUND: One year earlier Miriam Clarkson passed away but not before leaving her now four grown adult children (Rita, Aaron, Peggy and Belmont) a journal of her most intimate thoughts and dreams. Miriam’s final wishes were for her children to seek out what is important in their lives and thusly a cross country trek began wherein each sibling will find his or her own happily ever after as they venture their way to New York City ending with a New Year’s Eve celebration. Rita found the love of her life in book one –Too Hot To Handle. Told from dual third person perspectives (Aaron and Grace) TOO WILD TO TAME focuses on the building relationship between political advisor Aaron Clarkson-the all-American pretty boy who screwed up his career and finds himself lost without a purpose in life, and Grace Pendleton, the presidential candidate’s daughter and a woman whose own life has been spiraling out of control. What ensues is the back and forth, push and pull of attraction as Grace tries to venture out on her own in spite of her father’s over controlling and protective nature. Aaron does not want a repeat of his last political disaster but Grace is a woman in need of some direction in her life. The relationship between Grace and Aaron begins accidentally as our heroine is caught running from a crime of her own making. Their attraction to one another is immediate and undeniable. As Aaron struggles with his attraction to the feisty, independent, eccentric and troubled young woman, he is also determined to become part of the senator’s political campaign quite possibly at the expense of the woman with whom he is falling in love. Grace is a bit of a wild child with a past mired in a dark and troubling secret, and it is this secret that continues to push at our heroine’s emotions. The senator and his family have chosen to ‘hide’ their youngest daughter from the media and the public eye, and in this Grace is determined to make her own mark-one way or another. Aaron likes to talk dirty in bed. The secondary and supporting characters include Aaron’s siblings Peggy and Belmont, and the woman that controls Belmont’s demons-Sage. We are also introduced to Grace’s father- a man determined to protect his daughter from the past but a past that he also hopes to use on the race to the White House. The world building continues to focus on the dysfunctional family dynamics of the Clarkson family. We are up close and personal into the mind of the family matriarch as each sibling will ‘seek out’ their mother’s journal and the message she has revealed and left for each of her children. I am hoping Belmont’s story will reveal the true demons that control his life. I did struggle with the believability of one particular aspect of this story line as it pertained to Grace’s actions in the initial stages of the story-there would have been some major backlash and a police investigation but the author has chosen to take the story and resulting questionable fall-out in another direction. TOO WILD TO TAME is sees another Clarkson sibling find his happily ever after. The premise is idealistic; the characters are animated and energetic; the romance is passionate and hopeful.
