    Well written but depressing

This is a well crafted book, with characters who are interesting even if many of them are deeply unpleasant. The story pulls you along, and you do feel as if you’re there in the courtroom with Kate. Sophie is depressingly two dimensional in the role of wife and mother, though this is no doubt intentional. I had to really rack my brains to remember her name, though I’ve just finished the story. Worth a read, but quite grim, and ultimately with a realistic yet deeply unsatisfying ending.

    Antony of a scandal

Quite good but it liked depth. Would have like more characterisation especially of James

    Too many cliches

Too many cliches and it took the first half of the book to realize what the point was all about. Predictable ending.

    Fiona Watson

Great ! Thea bit of a limp ending. Nothing seems to have been resolved. Would recommend it to a friend. Description of the trial particularly good.
