    Contemporary Romance

Backset by Jennifer Bramseth Bourbonland Novellas #3 What a brilliant idea to have novellas between novel length books in a series – shorter stories that catch the reader up with some of the characters they have been wondering about. I know that I am going to have to wait to find out if/when Coraleigh Boyle and Clay Maddox London get their happily ever after so finding out what the two are doing and whether or not their paths cross at times is a very positive thing. In this short but sweet story we catch up with Leo and Milla as they prepare to say their wedding vows. Their story, Notice of Appeal, was a delightful and complex one. Seeing how the wedding is coming along and then is carried out was splendid. Add in learning more about Clay’s reprehensible father and the way he has been treating Clay’s mother along with how Coraleigh’s father is doing after the loss of his beloved wife and this tale is one that I whizzed through but then when finished I found myself wantng to know what would come next in the Bourbonland series. Well, it won’t be Clay and Coraleigh who step into the limelight but instead Maisie Chaplin and Cord Bilton AND I am eager to read their story then read another novella and see if THEN I will find out whether or not Coraleigh and Clay get their HEA in book five OR if I will have to wait some more. Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars

    Fiery Passion

As I have come to expect by all her stories, old series or new, my attention was captured from the very beginning. Certainly having characters, or the mention of them, from her earlier series definitely helps to garner that enthusiasm...yet it's her writing that is the true draw. In this novella, though short, the emotions that the story evoked were second to none. Between Leo and Milla's wedding, and the heartbreak of Clay and Coraleign's history, I certainly came away with both joy and sadness. One can only hope that Clay and Coraleigh will one day be able to overcome old anger and pettiness, not between them, but their fathers, to finally find their richly deserved HEA. Until then my heart will continue to break for the seemingly insurmountable obstacles their selfish families have burdened them with. This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the author. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

    Love visiting Bourbonland

I love spending time with my friends in Bourbonland. Leo and Milla’s journey continues as we prepare for their wedding. As plans are under way, tragedy strikes when the dress shop burns down but Coralie to the rescue which saves the day for Milla. As we get to experience all the preparations with the love Leo and Milla share, we also get to experience more of Coralie and Clay’s struggles. These two people are so in love but family comes first and the rift between their families is too great to overcome. The struggles these two face are intense from all sides. I hope that one day they will find a way to happiness.

A rest stop on the road to something more.

Backset is a rest stop on the road to something more. A chance to reconnect with old friends, be introduced to new ones and get the back story on an upcoming read. Ms. Bramseth entices readers with her small town characters and big city drama. The mystery begins with sharp dialogue and smartly presented characters to guide the way.
