    Thanks for your feedback!

I thought this book captured perfectly the feeling of communist threat after the war. The main protagonist becomes immersed in espionage and throughout you never really gauge whom is spying in whom. With the stuff upper lip in place throughout, and the beginnings of females taking a larger role in the workplace, McEwan really manages to capture the feelings of the period. The love and espionage elements are fantastic, and you really wonder until the end of the story how it will unfold. Wonderful!
