    Amazing

An amazing start to a new series. It has a great group of characters that should provide us with fantastic stories in the future. In this one we have Lovey Armstrong. Duncan Armstrong is one of the pilot players and Lovey is his little sister. She's hilarious, free spirited, and determined. When she shows up on the Duncan's doorstep needing a place to stay he obviously can't turn her away. Having her staying there with him and his roommate probably isn't the best idea though. His roommate is team captain Marc Dupuis. Always the stoic serious one, Lovey is determined to get him to smile. After all he's big, strong, French, and hot as hell. There's an immediate attraction but since she's Duncan's little sister, totally off limits. Are maybe, what Duncan doesn't know won't hurt him...... Can't wait to read the next in this series! I highly recommend this one.

    Majorly Attracted

Lovey Armstrong cones to Chicago to live with her brother. He is an NHL star for the Chicago Aces, and his roommate is the team captain, Marc Dupuis. The sparks fly between Lovey and Marc from the second they meet! Lovey wants Marc. Anywhere and anyway she can have him. And Lovey, always gets what she wants. Only problem? Her brother has warned everyone off that she is off limits. As her brother's best friend, Marc is sure to stay away, right? Marc knows if he does not stay far away from Lovey, he will give in to the want that rips through him every time he is in her presence. He thinks about her all the time. He has never felt this way about any woman. Lovey and Marc end up sneaking around behind her brothers back. What he does not know won't hurt him, right? After all, he thinks she has never grown up. Maybe it is time to come clean with a few truths? This book is seriously HOT! A great start to the Aces Hockey series! I loved the hockey fun, the hotties that were on just about every page, the banter, the character development, and more. I was pleased to see such an amazing book and cannot wait to see the next one! ***This ARC was given by Netgalley.com and its publisher for an honest review.

    Fun Hockey Romance!

I was given an advanced copy of this book to write an honest review for Netgalley and Cocktails and Books. I’m a big fan of Kelly Jamieson and hockey romances, so I was thrilled to read her first book in the Aces Hockey series and I’m happy to say, I enjoyed everything about this enchanting romance that is both sweet and sexy. The story is entertaining and also has genuine characters with multiple layers that are easy to connect with. The story revolves around the players on the Aces hockey team in Chicago and in particular Marc Dupuis. Marc is the captain of the team and has the reputation of being cautious, series and responsible. These attributes make him a good leader for the team, but he needs a little more fun in his life. Everything changes when he meets Lovey Armstrong, his teammate’s little sister. Once he sees her, he can’t seem to think straight and she has him twisted up in knots. Lovey’s brother, Duncan has warned all his teammates to stay away from his sister and Marc really does try, but Lovey makes it impossible. Marc and Lovey are great together. Marc is quiet and careful and Lovey is fun loving, flighty and outgoing. She is kind of a dork, and has a lot of silly expressions that she uses throughout the book. Marc and Lovey are total opposites, but sometimes opposites attract. There is a lot of chemistry between these two as they try to spend time together without anyone knowing. Lovey’s brother Duncan is so protective of her, it is cute, but I can understand how it would annoy Lovey. I really like Marc. He is loyal and protective of everyone he cares about and he is always so sweet to Lovey. He also has a sexy French accent and Lovey finds it impossible to resist him when he speaks to her in French. He’s a nice guy, although a little insecure about woman, but smoking hot in the bedroom. There are also engaging secondary characters that add fun to this story. The guys on the hockey team love to give each other a hard time and of course, everyone has a nickname. I look forward to reading more stories about the players on the team in future books in this series. It’s exciting to find a new series that is satisfying and hard to put down.

Great start to a new series

Review copy provided by publisher I've read a few books by Kelly Jamieson in the past and have always enjoyed her voice. I was super excited to read her new Chicago Aces hockey series. Major Misconduct was a great start to the Chicago Aces series. I really loved Marc Dupuis from the moment we met him and could feel the connection between him and Lovey immediately. Their chemistry was off the charts hot, and I loved watching them fall for one another. I really loved them as a couple, but hated they had to keep it a secret from Lovey's brother Duncan. I did however, love how Duncan caught them together and it did make me laugh out loud. I took a bit longer to really love Lovey's character. I didn't like that she was keeping secrets from her brother about her job hunt and her business ideas, but totally understood after she told him what she was doing. I loved Lovey's idea for her business and found it completely relevant for the social media world today. I will say I found Lovey to be a bit immature at times and really didn't like how she treated Marc when she got scared their relationship was moving too fast. She tends to run away and I loved Marc so much, I didn't want to see him get hurt. I did love that she always makes up for her mistakes in a big way though. I really enjoyed Major Misconduct and am already looking forward to more books in the Chicago Aces series from Kelly Jamieson.

Good start to this sexy new sports romance series!

This sexy sports romance is the story of Lovey and Marc. When Lovey shows up unannounced at her brother Duncan's spacious apartment in Chicago, she's hoping he won't turn down her request to stay with him while she gets back on her feet, having dumped her boyfriend, quit her job and moved away from her home in order to pursue a new career. Duncan is a hockey player for the Chicago Aces, as is his roommate Marc. He can't exactly turn away his sister, though truth be told he's not so keen on having her as a roommate. Still, what are brothers for if not to be supportive in times of need so he's okay with letting her stay while she gets back on her feet. Marc has his own dilemma though - an attraction to Duncan's flirty, friendly sister that he knows is off limits but can't help giving into, even if she's the opposite of the type of girl he'd usually go for. Duncan's words of warning to both of them fall on deaf ears of course and they end up in the sack together. But Lovey isn't looking for commitment and when it appears that Marc's feelings for her go deeper than she intended she's all set to back out of their game, especially after her brother finds out what's been going on. In her quest to get her life together and prove she's not afraid of failing, will she lose the one man who accepts and values her just as she is? I quite enjoyed this story! For sports fans, the game of hockey is definitely well represented, with Marc as the serious, committed captain of the Chicago Aces hockey team. He worries not just about the game that they play, but also about the individual players themselves, making him true captain material. There is a good mix of hockey scenes in the story to satisfy the sports lover, without overwhelming someone unfamiliar with how the game is played. Even when the team is mixing it up with the locals at the bars they frequent or when joking around at apartment parties with him and Duncan, Marc still comes across as the one in charge, making sure the guys are okay, don't drink too much, and will give their best efforts in practices and games. So of course into Marc's calm and perhaps slightly boring existence flies Lovey, his roommate's sister. Lovey is everything Marc isn't - impulsive, sometimes naive, a little bit spoiled (and used to getting her own way), flirty and friendly. (Which isn't to say that Marc isn't friendly, he's just more reserved). As his roommate's sister she's hands off. But Lovey makes it clear that while she's living at their place, she's okay with a little hands on action and the result is a steamy, sexy, secret little love affair. But Lovey has more depth to her than meets the eye at first. She's working hard to start her own business, developing a social media presence for clients looking to branch out, but she knows too, that without some big clients there is no point telling her brother about it as he won't see it as a serious endeavour if she doesn't have the backing to make it profitable. Marc believes her though, and more importantly believes in her and his support of her dream means more to her than she expected. Finally, someone is willing to take her seriously. She knows she has a history of letting things go without giving them the proper time to make them work, a fear of failure driving her (because if she quits while she's ahead, then she can't fail right?). She believes Marc's interest in her is mostly due to their fantastic sex, and the idea that he might be contemplating more of a future gives her cold feet. Soon enough, she has to make a decision on whether she's willing to let Marc go on account of those fears. I liked the two of them together, the opposites attract story firmly in place here. They definitely have good chemistry together and please each other well in the bedroom. Lovey's relationship with her brother is a more typical sibling friendship, particularly since he's the older brother used to taking care of his younger sister (and heaven forbid she be having sex, never mind with one of his friends!). The camaraderie of the hockey team was fun to experience, introducing some of the other players who will have their stories told in the series. Overall, it was an enjoyable read and a good start to this new hockey series. 3.5 stars.
