    Is Mimi a target?

I like Mimi and her crew. Glad to see Mimi and Nash progressing. Still don't understand why Mimi is friends with Willow. This is a good mystery and a fun story. When Chef C's sister is murdered, Chef C becomes a suspect. Mimi will not let someone she cares about become a murder suspect. She just knows that Chef C is not capable of murdering her sister. There is someone skulking around her house. Is Mimi a target? Will she be able to help find the murderer before she becomes a victim?

    A Souffle of Murder?

Mimi Rousseau, owner of Bistro and Maison Rousseau, is ready for Crush Week and the Sweet Treats Festival that is being held on the premises. Chef Camille’s sister, Renee, is managing the event with an iron fist. But, when she’s found murdered, can Mimi find the culprit before the Festival becomes a disaster? This was a wonderfully woven mystery with great suspects drawn from unique characters. Once I thought I knew who did it, I was surprised by a new twist in the plot. The ending was very satisfying. I can’t wait to read another book from this great series. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily reviewing it.

    Great mystery, great food

This is the 2nd Book in A French Bistro Mystery Series but can be enjoyed as a stand-alone mystery. This is a fast-paced mystery with several twists and turns along the way. All your favorite characters from book one are back and few new characters being introduced. I really love how the main character, Mimi, is protective of the ones she cares about such as her Chef Camille. After the murder of Camile’s sister, Mimi takes her chef into her home and is determined to help find the killer. Mimi feels that if she can find the killer she will firstly clear Camille’s name of any wrongdoing and secondly help give Camille a little closure over her sister’s death. Author Daryl Wood Gerber is a wonderful storyteller. She has a way of describing the setting in such a way that you can see the flowers in the gardens and the delicious food that is being served in the restaurants. Speaking of food if you are a lover of French food several recipes of food mentioned in the book are included. I would recommend this book to cozy mystery and culinary mystery lovers. I also recommend reading the first book as this is a really good series. I know I am looking forward to the next book. *** I received an ARC of this book in hopes that I would supply a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and have in no way been influenced. ***

The second book is even tastier than the first

It’s crush week in Napa and Maison Rousseau is hopping as a week-long festival is held on the grounds. Mimi and her staff are working hard with the increased foot traffic and when Chef C’s sister is murdered, Mimi has to step in to fill in in the kitchen while she also tries to price Chef C’s innocence. The author’s writing will whisk you off to Napa and you can almost smell and taste the food and wine. The writing is fantastic and supporting characters served up compliment the strong and well developed protagonist. This is a must read book for your Summer reading list!

    Another French Bistro Mystery

In this second book of the French Bistro Mystery, Mimi is looking forward to all the tourists attending the Sweets Treat Festival, part of Crush Week in Nouvelle Vie. But when Renee, the festival's manager turns up dead, Mimi realizes she needs to help with the investigation. Especially since her own Chef C, Camille, is also Renee's sister. The action moves along at a nice pace, with several possible suspects and motives. I love the introduction of a new cat for Mimi (black!), as well as a possible changing relationship with Nash. I enjoyed the descriptions of the festival's activities and contests, as well as the delectable foods served at Mimi's Bistro...with these recipes included at the end of the story! Disclosure: I am voluntarily reviewing this book.
