    Interesting story, but poorly done

I found the science in the book very accurate and interesting - it was the main reason I read the book (although I find it hard to believe that they would bring a mathematician on a field trip instead of a geophysicist to do a seismic survey!). But I was disappointed in the quality of the writing. The book definitely needed an editor to help the more tedious parts along and the characters were very cookie-cutter. With more exploration of the characters, trimming some fluff, and more inspired writing, it would have enjoyable. I doubt I will buy another book by this author.

    Crossing Savage

This was a well written and exciting thriller. Can't wait to read the next one. The story contained unexpected twists and provided information that I was previously unaware of. Always nice to read a good story and learn something new.

    I don't remember

Just Okay. Characters could use more development. Ending was abrupt and disappointing. Not likely to continue series. Not good, not bad.

    Crossing Savage

Quite a good book started off well but finished to quick. Could be a bit more intriguing. Would recommend for a good read.

How did this become a series?

Interesting enough premise for the story unfortunately let down by clunky writing. You're offered random details about random characters and I found everyone cliche and 2D. Felt like a badly written movie adaptation. I suspect it was the reverse, the author had in mind this would be sold as a hollywood script idea
